The city of Socorro has a rich history, culture, and sense of community. Local murals add a dash of color to the earth-toned buildings. The area is a little way from El Paso, but for locals, that is just what they want. “It’s not really country living, but it’s a bit out there, so you get a little more land,” Henry Holguin, a local Realtor with The Right Move Real Estate Group, says. Holguin has over 25 years of experience in real estate. The city is a stone’s throw away from El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, the second largest binational metro area on the Mexico-U.S. border after San Diego-Tijuana.

Spanish revival homes near El Paso
Homes in Socorro come in various shapes and sizes and offer something for nearly everyone. “We have a little of everything: starter homes, older homes, and new construction,” Holguin says. Spanish revival and stucco ranch homes are the primary styles that fill out the city, with many including metal or chain link fences. Yard space is limited for many homes, but there is enough space in the front yards for a bit of decoration and maybe a small flower garden to add a pop of color. Home prices range from $140,000 for a two-bedroom, one-bathroom house to $950,000 for a seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom house with a backyard and attached three-car garage. Most homes in the area usually go for $175,000 to $190,000.
