Peaceful suburbia and bustling shopping centers in Southside Springfield
While residents of Primrose walk out their doors to a tranquil suburban community, they're just a quick drive to one of Southside Springfield's busiest commercial corridors. "Primrose is really the heart of shopping, food and entertainment in that area," says Avery Grant, a Realtor with Alpha Realty. With dozens of stores, restaurants and breweries, there's almost no need to head 5 miles north to downtown, unless it's for work or to explore the city. Though this may be a bustling sector for shopping and dining, it also has its perks for outdoor enthusiasts who may enjoy walking through caves or hiking National Recreation Trail. A large quarry, which is hardly visible from ground-level, separates the neighborhood from major highways.
Primrose is conveniently located along some of Springfield's most popular travel corridors.

A multitude of big box retailers and restaurants
Primrose sits at the junction of East Battlefield Road and Glenstone Avenue, a primary shopping and dining destination. "The neighborhood is a melting pot of people and shops. It's surrounded by it," Grant says. Glenstone is lined with several big-box retailers, many of which are in the Primrose Marketplace shopping center, including Ross, Marshalls and Burlington. Meanwhile, Battlefield Mall features more than 100 businesses, with Dillard's, Macy's and JCPenney as anchor stores. The mall also features an Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park.
Restaurants flourish here as well. National chains are predominant, but the area also has some local spots. They include Asian King Buffet, which has all-you-can-eat Chinese and Mongolian fare, and McSalty's, known for its thin-crust pizza. Folks can also head away from the busy main roads to 4 By 4 Brewing Company, just across the street from Sequiota Park, where friends can hang out over beer and free popcorn.
A variety of fast food options await Primrose residents.

Caves at Sequiota Park
Locals can head to Meador Park, right next to Battlefield Mall. The park's baseball complex has five fields around a central snack stand. The outfields are also converted to football fields for local leagues. People can play pickleball on one of the 12 courts, have fun on the playground or go for a stroll on the nearly 1/2-mile walkway. The park's community pool, complete with two diving boards and a separate kiddie pool, opens during the summer. Sequiota Park is on the east side of the neighborhood in a more natural environment. People enjoy exploring the park's caves, fishing in the lake and going for jogs and bike rides on the Galloway Creek Greenway, a designated National Recreation Trail.
The caves at Sequiota Park are popular for an impromptu photo session.
