There are a couple of local businesses in Springvale, but residents can keep walking down Main Street to Sanford for more options, like the preowned bookstore Books Revisited, a volunteer-operated shop that donates all income to the York County Shelter Programs. Regional supermarket Hannaford stocks groceries and household essentials, but residents drive 14 miles northeast to Biddeford for retail options like Target and T.J. Maxx.

To walk a one-mile loop through a partially urban, partially forested landscape by the Mousam River, residents can go to the Mousam Way Trail.
