Proximity to shopping and parks in Spanos Park West

In the northwest corner of Stockton, Spanos Park West combines outdoor and retail lifestyles. The neighborhood borders Park West Place, where people can find familiar chains and local businesses along Trinity Parkway. Parks and golf courses around the neighborhood mean residents can get outside and enjoy the beautiful California weather while staying just minutes from home. “The houses being built are some of the nicest in the area. The schools are very close by,” says local school secretary Helen Abrahams, “Lovely parks and all the shopping you need are right there at Park West. It’s a very attractive neighborhood.”

Golfing and fishing opportunities around Spanos Park West

Just to the north of Spanos Park West, The Reserve At Spanos Park is where people can go to play a round on the green. The club boasts a resort-like feel and views of Mount Diablo. Right across the 5 from Spanos Park West is Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park, where people can explore the 180 acres through the walking trails. The 10-acre lake features trout and catfish fishing, and people can rent paddleboats on the weekends from April to October. “Michael Faklis Park is where a lot of people go to play soccer,” says Realtor Lance McHan with Lance McHan. The park is more open than others around Stockton, making it the perfect spot for team sports. Athletes can also use the tennis courts or baseball diamond.

Local restaurant and chain stores at Park West Place

With Park West Place just on the other side of Trinity Parkway, residents can stop into the restaurants or shops here. Moo Moo’s Burger Barn is a local burger joint that also serves old-fashioned milkshakes. McHan recommends Raw Sushi for those who love seafood and Japanese cuisine, highlighting this as a popular hotspot to find locals. For brunch, Huckleberry’s Breakfast and Lunch serves up breakfast classics and Southern staples, like catfish and Cajun dishes. Park West Place also offers retail and grocery shopping with a Target and Walmart Supercenter within the complex.

Newer homes with Spanish influences in Spanos Park West

Throughout Spanos Park West, Spanish Revival ranches and single-family homes with Spanish influences built in the early 2000s line the streets. “That part of town still feels very new,” Abrahams says. “Lots of houses have gone up in just a few years, and there are more being built even right now. It’s a great time to move to Stockton.” The streets are wide here, with sidewalks along both sides and young trees planted at regular intervals with the occasional palm tree for a more open feel while offering a pop of color. Some communities have open green spaces that residents can walk to. “There’s also a little clubhouse for the community,” McHan says. Most houses here list between $500,000 and $725,000. While this is higher than other areas around Stockton, folks can find homes here offering up to five bedrooms for more space.

Spanos Park West students attend Lodi's schools

While Spanos Park West is part of Stockton’s metropolitan area, students will attend schools in the Lodi Unified School District. Niche ranks Manilo Silva Elementary School as the 70th most diverse public elementary school in the state, out of over 6,000, and awards it a B. Christa McAuliffe Middle School receives a B-minus from Niche. Students at Bear Creek High School can attend Career Technical Education (CTE) programs through the Lincoln Technical Academy. The high school earns a B from Niche.

Commuting downtown along the 5 from Spanos Park West

Spanos Park West is about halfway between downtown Stockton and Lodi, with both city centers about 11 miles away. The 5 runs along the eastern side of Spanos Park West, connecting residents to downtown and Stockton Metropolitan Airport, about 16 miles away. This airport is only regional, but it does offer nonstop flights to Vegas and Phoenix. Also accessible along the 5 is Dignity Health – St. Joseph’s Medical Center, just 11 miles from Spanos Park West. The majority of West Park Place sits along Trinity Parkway. Spanos Park West only has a handful of bus stops servicing the neighborhood, so residents will likely have to rely on their cars to get around. With the Interstate and parkway so close, people can enjoy increased accessibility in this part of Stockton.

Stockton's summer concerts and Lodi's annual fair

Downtown Stockton hosts a number of community events for residents, like Stockton Flavor Fest every May. This festival features the city’s best food alongside performances and demonstrations, and all proceeds support Stockton’s local nonprofits. Concerts in the Park occur every Wednesday evening from June to August, where people set up their picnic blankets and chairs on the lawn at Victory Park to hear local musicians. Because Spanos Park West is closer to Lodi than other neighborhoods in Stockton, residents can also head to Lodi Street Faire. Occurring once in May and once in October, this festival showcases over 500 vendors along 14 blocks of Lodi’s downtown.
