One of Sugar Land’s oldest planned communities
Known for its unique home design, commuting convenience and retail offerings, Sugar Land has transformed from a company town for a local sugar mill into one of Houston’s most desired suburbs. Established in the 1970s, Sugar Creek is one of the city’s oldest master-planned neighborhoods and has everything that makes Sugar Land so well-loved—modern luxury homes, a large country club, and a prime location at the intersection of U.S. 59 and U.S. Highway 90. “I would say hands-down, Sugar Creek is the best location of any Sugar Land subdivision due to its location on the 59 and 90,” says Kelly Stewart, a Sugar Creek resident of almost 45 years and a real estate agent with Compass RE Texas LLC. “The top things I hear from people who want to move here are they love the location, the way every home is custom and that every lot is gorgeous.”
Sugar Creek is home to about 3,100 full time residents.
Interstate 69 runs along Sugar Creek's northern edge.

Shaped by the Sugar Creek Country Club
Sugar Creek is shaped around its namesake, Sugar Creek Country Club, on Sugar Creek Boulevard. It is one of Sugar Land’s largest private clubs, and its claim to fame is three golf courses—including its 27-hole championship course—along with a clubhouse, pool and tennis courts. Many houses of worship are located near the country club, including the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir on Brand Lane. This temple attracts many visitors for its traditional architecture, elaborate gardens and exhibits on the history of Hinduism. On the opposite side of the country club, locals can be found reading on the waterside at Water’s Way Park, playing soccer at Lost Creek Park on Lost Creek Boulevard or biking on the trails at Oyster Creek Park along Creekshire Drive.
Residents of Sugar Creek can tee off at the Sugar Creek Country Club.

Pythagoras’s vegan menu is out of this world
Sugar Creek neighbors Town Center Shopping Center on Interstate 69, one of Sugar Land’s large retail complexes, which is anchored by Target and large clothing stores like Macy’s, Dillard’s and JCPenney’s. Town Center is also surrounded by Sugar Land’s acclaimed medical industry, home to large hospitals like Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital and Sugar Land Medical Center.
While Town Center has no shortage of chain restaurants, some unique local spots can be found further up the Southwest Freeway. Pythagoras on Parkway Boulevard takes its visitors into orbit with a galaxy-themed dining room and an all-vegan menu featuring outer space-themed items like the Vegan Alien Gyro and the Astro Dog. On Diary Ashford Road, Q’s Deli proudly sports the title of the first halal deli in Houston and offers classic grilled sandwiches and signature milkshakes.
Residents of Sugar Creek enjoy lunch at Pythagoras, in the central part of the neighborhood.

Sugar Creek has modest bungalows and Mediterranean mansions alike
Sugar Creek spans across multiple subdivisions, which each have their own unique character. Sugar Creek Center has contemporary multi-story family homes that cost between $400,000 to $700,000. Homes in Mayfield Park and Sugar Mill are typically smaller cottages and bungalows that range between $300,000 to $400,000. The most unique properties are in the waterfront subdivisions of Lake Village, Sugar Lakes and Venetian Estates. Colonial Revival homes are the most popular style, but Greek Revival and Mediterranean and styles are also common. These residences come with a higher price tag between $800,000 to $4 million. “The interesting thing about the development of this area is the homes were all custom designs by individual home builders,” says Kay Arnold, Realtor with The Kay Team at Keller Williams Memorial. “There’s no cookie-cutter here at all. You get unique, quality homes with a lot of character that adds to the dynamic of the neighborhood.” Sugar Creek has a CAP Index Crime Score of 4, which matches the national average score.
Multi million dollar homes can be found in Sugar Creek.
