With over 250 acres of municipal green space and city-sponsored athletic clubs, Sunrise ensures that residents have easy access to parks and outdoor recreation. "There's plenty of open green spaces for kids to play and families to get together," says Teresa Schwarz, broker-owner of LYFE Realty. Welleby Park stands out with its splash pad, playground and the city's first municipal dog park. Flamingo Park is another popular green space. Markham Park and Target Range is perched on the edge of the Everglades and offers all kinds of outdoor activities, from mountain biking and camping to model airplane launches.
