Expansive properties and farmland in western Oregon
Spacious properties, farmlands and quiet streets allow residents to enjoy the natural beauty of western Oregon in Crawfordsville. Located between Brownsville and Sweet Home, this small, rural community lies on the banks of the Catapooia River, and properties boast views of the surrounding hills and woodlands. “It’s a really small town,” says Sarah Sawyer, a local Realtor with Luxe Forbes Global Properties. “You could hold your breath driving through town. It’s just a quick stop on Highway 228. That's what locals like about it though. You’re in your own private community where people are spread out, but it doesn’t take long to drive to the interstate or the shops and restaurants in Brownsville.”
Century-old farmhouses and river access
Historic farmhouses and cottages date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with some newer builds from the 1970s and 80s mixed throughout. “Expansive lots are one of the biggest draws to Crawfordsville,” says Sawyer. “And a lot of homes have private access to the Catapooia River for swimming and fishing.” Properties span from less than an acre to around 10 acres, allowing room for horses and livestock. Prices range from $250,000 to $420,000 for homes on small lots in need of renovations, while larger, updated houses can go for $450,000 to $900,000. Crawfordsville has a CAP Index crime score of 1 out of 10, significantly lower than the national average of 4.

Randy’s Main Street Coffee is down the road and serves baked goods, breakfast burritos and toasted sandwiches. For groceries, shoppers can visit Safeway or Thriftway in nearby Sweet Home.
