Lakeside living in Symmes Township

About 15 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati, Remington-Lake Isabella is a neighborhood in Symmes Township that has some unique differences from surrounding areas. “In the townships, you don’t have to pay the city income tax, so that is a huge draw to people moving into the area,” says Alison Moss of Keller Williams Seven Hill Realty, with 16 years of experience in the area. “On top of that, there’s a community feel with events like yoga in the park, town clean up events and other things that get the community together.” The area is known for being in the Sycamore County School District, which boasts some of the best ratings in the state. Lake Isabella provides an opportunity for folks to get in touch with nature, while nearby restaurants and shops provide all the conveniences of city living. The neighborhood has a 2 out of 10 CAP Crime index score, compared to the national average of 4 and rates particularly low on violent crime.

The main source of recreation is Lake Isabella and the surrounding park on the neighborhood’s eastern end. The lake is stocked year-round and is a major fishing destination. Dining at Remington Tavern

The area is home to plenty of chain restaurants and fast, casual spots, but there are a few local eateries in the neighborhood. Kirby’s is known for the plethora of old guitars on the walls and a menu full of upscale bar food. Locals can also enjoy patio seating during the warmer months of the year. For a cup of Joe, Branch Hill Coffee is the place residents flock to. Branch Hill has a quaint feel, with specials written on chalkboards and pastries displayed in clear counters.
