Public golf course and parks
On the east side of Hilaman is the Hilaman Golf Course, an 18-hole public course. Golfers can purchase annual memberships for individuals and families, and after a round they can stop at the Caddy Shack restaurant for hot dogs and French fries. At Optimist Park, which has woods and open space, people run around with their dogs and play soccer, and locals eat picnics outside at Koucky Park. The 28-acre Indian Head Acres Park connects the two neighborhood green spaces, and down the road is Cascades Park, which has an amphitheater and a lake with walking pathways. “Cascades Park is not too far and that’s kind of a revitalization area that has some restaurants. The new builds over there are all rentals,” says Audrey Nedeau, real estate broker at Suite Real Estate, LLC. “They were built to rent, but not purchase.” Nearby Myers Park has a playground and a public swimming pool.
