A peaceful waterfront community
With a location on the Hillsborough River, Ridgewood Park has a waterside lifestyle from houses with personal docks to recreation on the waterway. The small residential area also offers a calm atmosphere. “The overall location feels like a nice quiet neighborhood,” says Realtor Courtney Poe, who works with Frank Albert Realty, LLC and has 9 years of experience in the area. To spice things up, residents can go to community events or walk to a bounty of nearby restaurants.
Diverse home styles including waterfront properties
North of downtown Tampa, Ridgewood Park is composed of winding roads of single-family homes and compact lots decorated with tropical plants and flourishing palm trees that rise above houses. The walkable, residential area doesn’t have much traffic, which is ideal for residents to take leisurely strolls, ride their bikes or run errands. As for architectural styles, the neighborhood offers a medley of houses along the river which include private docks, sending boaters south towards the Hillsborough Bay. Midcentury ranch-style houses and cottages offer the most modest living options. Craftsman builds are designed with exposed beams and covered front porches, while Mediterranean homes have stucco exteriors and clay tile roofs. Sales prices range from $280,000 for a ranch-style house in need of renovations to $2.3 million for a 6-bedroom newly constructed home.
The private docks in Ridgewood Park have been customized to fit owners needs.

From butterflies to boats
Residents gather at the Ridgewood Park Butterfly Garden to pluck weeds and plant flowers. The natural haven is small but mighty, with a paved path ideal for a relaxed stroll, plus benches among vegetation that attract monarch butterflies. “There are two boat clubs since we’re right on the river,” Poe says. Residents who want quality time on the water can join Tampa Cruis-A-Cade Club or JetRide Boat & Jet Ski Club.

Nearby retail galore
To stock up on produce and groceries, residents can go to the Sprouts Farmers Market for a supermarket setting. As for restaurants, one stands out with award recognition. “There are dozens of options for food and drinks. Down the street, Rocca got a Michelin star. You can walk there from the neighborhood,” Poe says. Rocca serves Italian cuisine in an upscale setting with a wine cellar and modern touches like plants hanging from the ceiling. At Armature Works, a food court with options from Japanese to Latin American, patrons can take in river views while dinng outside. They can also stay entertained with live music and a giant chess set.
Ridgewood Park community events
“There’s an optional HOA fee to participate in events. We do porch parties, luminaries and a sip and stroll. It’s a really active community, the closest to downtown with single-family homes,” Poe says. The neighborhood bonds during the Luminaries plus Sip and Stroll, an annual winter gathering. Neighbors set up tables with warm drinks, including adult and child-friendly options, and line the neighborhood sidewalks with candles to celebrate the holiday season.

About 2 miles from downtown Tampa, residents can easily commute via North Boulevard or take a Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority bus at a few stops in the neighborhood. As for the nearby medical center, locals can go to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Residents can also access the Tampa International Airport for further travel from business trips to vacations.
