Tinley Park Commons is a small shopping district within Lancaster Woods that hosts the regional supermarket chain Jewel-Osco. Lancaster Woods hosts nature preserves and George Dunne Golf Course to the east

Residents can stroll to the centrally located Lancaster Woods Park, a 2-acre suburban green space surrounding Midlothian Creek. Also within the enclave is Robert Allen McAllister Park, which is on the neighborhood's northeast corner and is a small nature woodland park with grassy fields to picnic or walk through amongst willow oak trees. Further east are St. Mihiel Woods and Yankee Woods, two sprawling nature preserves with dense canopies of shade trees and miles of trails to walk, jog, or bike on. George Dunne National Golf Course is beside Yankee Woods; this 18-hole premier course caters to all skill levels, with PGA-experienced trainers ready to teach fundamentals.

Tinley Park High supports AP learning

Students in Lancaster Woods are served by Tinley Park Community Consolidated School District No. 146 for Pre-K through middle school and Bremen Community High School District No. 228 for high school. Kids will likely attend Bert H. Fulton School and Central Middle School, which both hold a B overall rating from Niche. Tinley Park High is rated an A-minus and is located a block south of the neighborhood.
