Walkable, active neighborhood in east Tucson
Located about 10 miles northeast of downtown Tucson, suburban Broadway Northeast offers single-family homes, pedestrian-friendly streets and several retail plazas, all with distant views of the Catalina Mountains. Nestor Davila, a Realtor with Tierra Antigua Realty, who has over 19 years' experience, says "Residents here are close to plenty of shopping, national and state parks and the Tucson Loop, which is a paradise for bike-riding and jogging.” Homeowners associations are typical here, and there's easy access to public transportation. “We have tons of hiking trails, restaurants, grocery stores and bus routes. It's just a great area,” says Tiffany Sterry, a real estate agent who works for the neighborhood's Far Horizons East community. The area’s many houses of worship include Neighborhood Church Tucson and St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Shopping and dining within walking distance of homes
There’s a shopping plaza in every corner of Broadway Northeast, so locals have lots of options within walking distance of their homes. Grocery stores include Walmart, Fry's and Sprouts Farmers Market, and local restaurants include Guadalajara’s Grill and Tequila Bar, where fresh salsa is made tableside. Broadway Plaza offers a mix of department stores, big-box retail and small businesses, including Kohl’s, The Home Depot and Isle of Games, while Saguaro Vista Shopping Center has fast-food restaurants like Eegee’s. Oink Cafe is a neighborhood highlight for brunch fare, offering eight flavors of bacon, whether it be on a donut, in an omelet or garnishing a Bloody Mary. For even more shopping and dining, Park Place Mall is less than 3 miles away, with over 100 businesses.

Parks and trails for fans of sports and nature
“A lot of people come here because we're right off of The Loop,” Sterry says. The Loop is a 130-mile shared-used path that leads around the Greater Tucson Area, offering scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges and connecting many of the area’s parks, including Udall Park. Set a mile from the neighborhood, the 173-acre Udall Park offers a rec center with a gym and walking track. Outdoors, there's a dog park, baseball and soccer fields, and courts for bocce and pickleball. In summer, when temperatures regularly top 100 degrees, locals flock to the park’s community pool, splash pad and waterslide. Set 9 miles away, Saguaro National Park’s known for its dirt-packed hiking trails and campgrounds.

The Music in the Park series brings lots of local bands and groups to the park’s amphitheater throughout the year, including the Arizona Symphonic Winds. Prices for townhomes range from $200,000 to $350,000, depending on size.
On the neighborhood’s west side, single-family homes were typically built from the late 20th century through the early 2000s. These ranch-style homes have two to four bedrooms and layouts of 1,000 to 2,000 square feet; some have Pueblo-inspired features, like adobe exteriors and flat roofs with rounded corners. Davila says the newer homes here have modern features, like high ceilings, dual-pane windows and open floor plans. Prices range from $250,000 to $400,000, depending on size and features like attached garages and private pools.
