The corridor of Speedway Boulevard and Swan

In a city like Tucson, known for bursts of vibrance and life, St. Cyrils captures that spirit and doubles down on it. “There’s a lot of great stuff off that Speedway Blvd. and Swan corridor,” says Anthony Vito-Bollong, a Realtor with Long Realty, who sells homes here and throughout Tucson. “It has an artsy feel. You’ve got an eclectic mix of residents. You’re close to a lot of great amenities.” With homes and apartments comprising just about half of St. Cyrils’ property mix, the remainder is divided among office, retail and healthcare space.

In the shadow of the Catalina Mountains

With views of the Catalina Mountain range to the north, St. Cyrils’ homes are diverse, alive and full of color. There are desert landscapes with yuccas, tall trees and gates adorned with metalwork. An older, established neighborhood, there are mid-century homes all about, bungalows and ranch-style homes, and plenty of red wire-cut brick and adobe. “The styles of homes have an artistic touch. It doesn’t have a cookie-cutter vibe,” Vito-Bollong says. The median price for a single-family home in St. Cyrils is around $315,000, with most homes priced from $240,000 to around $400,000.

Meanwhile, for a local retail experience, Plaza Palomino is a popular option, featuring dress shops, specialty stores, a wine-tasting room and some restaurants. Also, for restaurant goers, there’s Tito and Pep, a neighborhood favorite. “It’s been written about,” Vito-Bollong says. “I always like their New York strip. Their salads are amazing as well.”

Fort Lowell Park and the Tucson Botanical Gardens

Neighborhood residents have a few park options when they’re ready for time outdoors, all within reasonably short drives. There’s Fort Lowell Park, 5 minutes away. It has baseball diamonds, tennis courts, a play area for children and a pool. “It’s a huge park and it’s right near the Rillito River, which is a large seasonal wash that runs through Tucson,” Vito-Bollong says. In the opposite direction is Tucson Botanical Gardens, which features a dozen gardens on 5 acres, plus educational activities for kids. And for a less overwhelming experience, there’s Pinecrest Park, which has picnic tables, a playground for kids and wide-open spaces for parkgoers and their pets.
