Trail walkers and cyclists living in Milwood take advantage of the 9-mile paved Mingo Trail that weaves through the neighborhood. This path circles Hicks Park Community Center, an indoor fitness center with athletic courts and a sizeable exercise area. Outside, kids can make use of the playground while athletes practice on the outdoor athletic fields. “We offer youth programs, like a 9-week summer camp for kids, and we have lots of senior activities like senior line dancing,” says Mario, a staff member at Hicks Park Community Center. “We also offer social programs, like Dungeons & Dragons campaigns on Tuesdays.” Just across the street from the community center is another major attraction for athletes: the Metro Tulsa soccer club – or MTsc – United North Complex. This soccer complex offers programs for anyone from ages 2 to 19, including some free clinics throughout the year.
