About Union, KY

About Union, KY

A variety of homes, remarkable schools and outdoor spaces

Just 22 miles from Downtown Cincinnati, the union of well-built homes, exceptional schools and an array of outdoor options have attracted homebuyers. Residents looking into the quiet and private city of Union can find anything from small ranches to larger estates, all that sit on larger plots of land in comparison to communities closer to Cincinnati. Children attend Boone County Schools, which are well-regarded in the area. One can’t talk about Union without talking about its proximity to Big Bone Lick State Historic Site and Boone County Arboretum, both of which give residents immense space to take in nature.

From ranch styles and bi-levels to new traditional homes

From single-family dwellings to townhouses and condominiums, housing styles in Union can vary. Single-family homes typically come as ranch-style, bi-level or new-traditional styles. These homes have sold for between $115,000 for a small ranch-style home up to $2.7 million for an expansive estate sitting on 48 acres of land. Union homes have more land than the neighborhoods closer to Cincinnati, giving residents a bit more privacy. With more land comes less walkability. Union is a car-dependent community backed up by its Walk Score of 0 out of 100. Condominiums and townhouses are another popular option, with most in the eastern portion of the city. These properties have sold for between $160,000 and $430,000. As for crime, the CAP Index gave Union a Crime Score of 2 out of 10, well below the national average.
