A melting pot west of Philadelphia
Known by residents as “The World in One Place,” Upper Darby is a diverse neighborhood located in the Upper Darby Township west of Philadelphia. “It is a melting pot where people are living and thriving,” says Maureen Ingelsby, former resident and Realtor with Keller Williams Real Estate. “The neighborhood is very welcoming, everyone is active in their churches, and they all support each other through community events.” Upper Darby’s diversity is reflected in the variety of restaurants, shops, and markets within walking distance of most residents. The highly trafficked 69th Street Transportation hub ensures commuters can access the vibrant areas of downtown Philadelphia while being able to retreat to their lively suburban community.
Although a suburb of Philly, Upper Darby has its own vibrant city feel.

Restaurant cuisines range from Salvadorian to Pakistani to Korean, with everything in between. Pica’s Restaurant has become a neighborhood institution since it began serving hot pizza and tasty hoagies to the area in 1956. The restaurant is celebrity-endorsed, as an actress and former Upper Darby resident Tina Fey famously shared a slice of Pica’s Pizza with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show. When other celebrities come to Upper Darby, they usually pass through the Tower Theatre, a legendary Live Music Venue that’s been rocking since 1972. Residents can pick between smaller, nationality-based markets or the Fresh Grocer of Upper Darby for weekly produce and goods. Multiple houses of worship from a wide array of faiths serve the area.
