The gradual turn of each Ohio season becomes a true sensation amid the oaks and hickories of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Valley View sits in the northernmost reaches of the park, its subdivisions trailing through the expansive treescapes. Colonial-style homes line tidy residential streets, each lot level and kept proudly clean. Ranch homes can frequently be found under $200,000 while split-level and two-story Colonials can reach up into the $400,000s.

The gorgeous vistas of the national park aren't the only sights you might get near your Valley View house. Valley View Woods Park offers its own wooded acres complete with hiking trails beneath those lush canopies. Host a private event at the park's pavilion, or consider the Sherwood Forest Event Center. It's been said that everyone in Valley View knows someone who's been married at Sherwood Forest, though they also host showers and class reunions with the ballroom holding up to 400 people.

For those who aren't yet at the "class reunion" stage, schools in Valley View have an A rating according to Niche.com. Cuyahoga Heights School District caters to Valley View along with neighboring Brooklyn Heights and Cuyahoga Heights. Just head north to where the three villages meet near the commercial sprawl surrounding the intersection of Interstates 480 and 77. Cuyahoga Heights Elementary, Middle, and High Schools share a lengthy campus together on 71st Street in Cuyahoga Heights.

Before you reach the highway interchange on your way out of Valley View, you'll pass through the village's collection of restaurants. "You have to check out the Oak Barrel," says Realtor Joy Larson with Keller Williams Elevate. "The food is absolutely amazing. Check out the Snacks section on the menu. There's a duck fat popcorn that was unexpectedly delicious." Next door is the popular motor-themed restaurant chain, Quaker Steak & Lube. Boasting the best wings in Cleveland, Quaker Steak & Lube opened its Valley View location in 2001, bringing their 25 wing sauce options to the village. Swing by during a Cleveland sporting event to watch the game on any of their many flatscreen televisions.

In the same strip, you'll also find Cinemark, the neighborhood movie theater with its impressive lobby capped with chandeliers and cinema-themed artwork. For a more interactive entertainment option, Class Axe is an axe-throwing facility featuring private lanes and digital projections allowing you to aim at more than just a plain target. Choose a cartoon zombie or tic-tac-toe board to elevate your throwing experience. Then cap off your fun with a trip to Malley's Chocolates, Cleveland's chocolate shop for over 80 years.

Valley View's neat split between commercial and residential areas means that when your errands are through, you can leave the bustle behind and return to the tree-filled landscape that surrounds the village's houses. Here, you can count yourself among the few who can say they live on the stunning land of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio's only national park.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. People in this community tend to group up here, and then stay here for the remainder of their lives. I have come across so many who have enjoyed their time here and would not prefer to live in any other community. The community is absolutely pet friendly, family friendly, and many are involved with recreational events. Opportunities are presented quite often here and its been a pleasure growing up in a such a nice, friendly, and close community.
