Experience the best of West Vero Corridor, where community and nature thrive together.
From farmland to thriving residential roads
Not far from the heart of Vero Beach, the census-designated area of West Vero Corridor has burst into development since the late 20th century. Once an agricultural region that was mainly used to cultivate citrus groves, it became increasingly residential and commercial once it was included by highways and infrastructure projects. "West Vero Corridor stretches from I-95 to the Indian River Mall, so it's in between two popular locations," says Chris Junker, a Realtor with Re/Max Crown Realty. He currently lives nearby in Sebastian and has a decade of experience selling in the area. "It's an area that has room for growth; it's certainly not overly developed. I think it's heading in a good direction."

The variety of homes and atmosphere in West Vero Corridor
Regarding housing, West Vero Corridor has many options, from 55-plus subdivisions to golf course communities. The area is dotted with man-made lakes, so some sections get waterfront views. "Most areas hug 20th Road, and there are quite a few manufactured home communities. Some places are quite nice, like Pointe West. They have a golf course and polo grounds for residents," Junker says. Residential development for West Vero Corridor took off in the 1990s and has continued into the 21st century, so even the oldest homes only span back around 30 years, and they have often been renovated. Ranch homes and Spanish eclectic styles are most common, but new traditional and Craftsman can also be found in the area. Manufactured homes and one-bedroom condos can sell between $80,000 and $150,000; newer builds sell between $200,000 and $350,000, and large homes with luxury amenities sell between $350,000 and $500,000.
On the pathway to Vero Beach High
West Vero Corridor is zoned to the Indian River County School District, which receives an A-minus grade from Niche as a district. Many local kids will be sent to Rosewood Magnet School for kindergarten through fifth grade, as the school is graded with an overall A and takes the top spot for best elementary school in the county. Students can move on to Storm Grove Middle, which receives a B-plus, before heading to A-minus-rated Vero Beach High. The high school offers dual enrollment with Indian River State College so students can take college-level classes at the college, online, or during the summer. Vero Beach High is also well-known for its extracurriculars, with its band having performed overseas in Europe and the VBHS girls lacrosse team winning the state championship 10 years straight from 2006-2015.

Endless recreation at Jackie Robinson Training Complex
Locals can purchase membership access to the Vista Plantation Golf Club, a PGA- and USGA-affiliated 18-hole golf course. Nearby Piece of Pie Park, found off 21st Street, offers a large playground to quickly take the kids. Just across the canal is the Jackie Robinson Training Complex. Formerly known as Dodgertown, the baseball fields were used by the Brooklyn Dodgers for spring training for 60 years. At nearly 70 acres, it has public access to weight training, practice fields and batting cages. "We've got on-site villas, so a lot of high school and college teams will come for training. Soccer, swimming, you name it," says Amanda Nguyen, Senior Manager of Operations. "It's gone past baseball. We have so many sports events and camps open." Beachgoers will only have to travel 8 miles to get to the shoreline of the Atlantic, close to popular areas like South Beach Park and Vero Beach.
