Two miles north of home is Parkway Marketplace, a strip mall with fast-casual restaurants and a Harris Teeter for groceries. “If you lived around here, you’d likely be browsing through the Town Center of Virginia Beach on occasion but doing more general shopping at Kempsville or Landstowne area,” says Hill. To the west is the larger KempsRiver Crossing, featuring local restaurants like Dulcinea Pizzeria, where it's popular to get the meatball platter or the blanco pie. For shopping sprees, locals can head south to Greenbrier Mall, anchored by Macy’s and Dillard’s, or to Landstown Commons, hosting a Kohl’s and Burlington, just across the street from the Virginia Beach Farmers Market.

Tallwood High hosts world language courses
Virginia Beach City Public Schools is the main district serving Brigadoon. Students can attend Indian Lakes Elementary and Brandon Middle School, which both get B-plus ratings from Niche. There’s also Tallwood High School, with an A-rating, and hosting the district’s Global Studies and World Languages Academy, to prepare students for a modern, multilingual society.
