An amenity-rich, master-planned community, St. Charles is a prime neighborhood to live, work and play.

As the best-selling Southern Maryland neighborhood, St. Charles boasts resort-style amenities, proximity to highly ranked schools and more than 9,000 acres of green space. St. Charles offers single-family, rambler-style houses, Cape Cods, split-levels, modern Colonials and Neo Traditional homes. Most homes were built in 1986 and range from $350,000 to 630,000. The neighborhood also offers townhomes that start at $300,000 and retirement villas in the Parkland Villas community starting at $300,000. There are also newer homes built in the mid-2000s or with renovations in the last several years if you have your sights set on a more modern design. A sprawling, well-kept development, homes feature two-car garages and large decks overlooking fenced-in backyards meticulously maintained and prime for gardening or entertaining. Sidewalks are wide and perfectly paved for your morning jog, afternoon stroll with the pup, or taking the kids for a bike ride after work. Residents can meet up and hang out at the community clubhouse, take a dip in one of the neighborhood Olympic-sized pools, or work up a sweat in the state-of-the-art fitness center or one of the many open-air workstations. The neighborhood is also a prime spot for commuters. Residents employed at the Pentagon, Bolling AFB and Andrew’s Air Force Base can conveniently access the nation’s capital in 20 miles via I-495. St. Charles is an inviting, peaceful community, and whether you stay inside the neighborhood or hop on a major highway, you can easily access an abundance of shopping, dining and entertainment.

Students attend Mary B. Neal Elementary, Ben Stoddert Middle and St. Charles High School. The elementary school received an overall B- from Niche and offers before and after-care through AlphaBEST Education and a summer enrichment program. Ranked No. 3 best high school in Charles County by Niche, St. Charles has titles in boys’ and girls’ basketball, offers a Science Sphere, digital classrooms and a Future Educations Association club. St. Charles High also provides an indoor swimming pool open to the community year-round.

Over 25 percent of St. Charles is designated permanent open space. In the middle of St. Charles lies White Plains Regional Park with everything from an 18-hole public golf course, lit tennis courts, baseball fields, a dog park and a 15,000 square-foot skateboard so you can shred some pavement. The neighborhood also boasts 9,100 acres filled with serene ponds, protected forests and paved hiking and biking trails. Or take the family out to the ball game to watch the minor-league Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in action at the Regional Furniture Baseball Stadium. Or lace up your skates and head to Capital Clubhouse to practice your figure eights on its NHL-size ice rink.

For shopping, St. Charles Town Center has you covered with abundant retail, restaurants and entertainment. Home to Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Boston’s Pizza, where you can grab a hot slice, wings and enjoy their extensive happy hour. Or dine in at Ocean Blui Grill for jerk chicken and a side of plantains. The shopping center is also a popular spot for local events like craft shows, holiday celebrations and pet adoptions. Satisfy your sweet tooth at Simply Cakelicious, where you can get champagne raspberry cupcakes, beautifully designed cakes and tarts. Nick’s of Clinton provides day-to-day shopping needs, and you can pick up fresh produce and shop small businesses at the neighborhood farmer’s market, which runs twice a week from May to November.

St. Charles goes above and beyond to engage its community. You can catch a summer concert at O’Donnell Lake, exercise your green thumb in the community garden or lace up your sneakers and join the masses at the annual St. Charles Running Festival, the neighborhood’s largest event, which is hugely popular with residents.

Step into a life of luxury at St. Charles.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
