A waterfront community in Waltham
Angleside is a tucked-away Waltham community right on the Charles River. Bordering the nationally recognized Brandeis University on the north side, this quiet retreat is home to business headquarters, college residence halls, apartment complexes and the Angleside Peninsula Subdivision, a pocket of about 30 waterfront homes tucked behind towering pines and narrow streets shaded by overhead canopies. Aside from its riverfront and tranquil character, Angleside also has an MBTA commuter rail station. With the commuter rail making it possible to access Boston in 5 train stops and the proximity of the freeway, Angleside is desirable for homebuyers who need to regularly traverse to the city while wanting a quiet, waterfront escape at home.

Peaceful retreats on the Charles River
When driving down the community’s winding streets that run alongside the Charles River, charming Cape Cods and sprawling modern homes are often covered by dense and leafy trees, creating a quaint, tucked-away setting. Architectural styles run the gamut from cottages and ranch styles to Colonial Revivals and split-levels. While some properties may date to the 1950s, larger houses over 3,000 square feet with open floor plans can be built as recently as in the past two decades. Smaller homes around 2,000 square feet usually list for around $1 million, with several estate properties over 4,000 square feet fetching over $2 million. Lot sizes are often around a quarter-acre, and many have backyard decks, direct water access or views of the Charles River. “The market in Angleside has very low inventory right now,” says Natalie Marsh, a Boston native Realtor at Compass with over 15 years of experience. “When something comes on the market, especially if the price is right, it flies.”
