Home to approximately 2,300 residents, this quiet community has access to a tremendous amount of green space, including the Bedford Reservation and Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

With an active Recreation & Community Life Department, Walton Hills residents are sure to find their groove. Join your new neighbors at a community softball game, learn about the area’s history at the Historical Resource Center in Walton Hills Village Hall or relax with yoga classes.

Walton Hills is an idyllic small town about 15 miles southeast of downtown Cleveland for those looking to escape the city.

In keeping with its small-town aesthetic, Walton Hills only hosts around 1,000 houses, most of which are ranchers with sizeable backyards. Many were built after 1960, and the neighborhood continues to develop, with new lots still available for custom builds.

Walton Hills' most unique feature is the half-acre, chlorinated Walton Hills Lake and the surrounding 13-acre park. With a beach, picnic amenities and playground, this one-of-a-kind aquatic oasis makes escaping the summer heat easy.

Walton Hills is minutes from Interstate 480, which allows residents to travel north toward Cleveland to catch a Browns game at FirstEnergy Stadium or south into Cuyahoga Valley National Park, home of Blossom Music Center.

Walton Hills provides various recreational programs and services for its residents throughout the year, including baseball leagues and summer camps, bus trips, luncheons for seniors and yoga classes. Additionally, the village hosts seasonal events at T.G. Young Park, including Easter egg hunts, outdoor concerts in the summer, and haunted hayrides and bonfires in the fall.

Walton Hills is home to the Bedford Reservation, one of the finest parks in the Cleveland Metroparks network. This expansive park includes Tinker’s Creek Gorge, a National Natural Landmark, and acres of forests where visitors find various trees, flowers and woodland animals. The Shawnee Hills Golf Course is also on the grounds, offering 27 holes for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy.

Walton Hills maintains T.G. Young Park, located on the village's eastern side. The park has become a lively meeting place for residents, with annual events and multiple options for recreation and relaxation. Here, residents can indulge in baseball or tennis, explore the playground and spend time at the Walton Hills International Raceway, a custom-built paved racetrack specifically designed for radio-controlled car racing.

There are no schools located inside Walton Hills, but public institutions part of the Bedford City and Cuyahoga Heights school districts can be found in all directions. There are also faith-based and private school options nearby.

Walton Hills is a close-knit community with multiple neighborhood clubs that unite residents with common interests. A variety of businesses are located in the small village, including auto parts and repair shops, industrial manufacturing facilities and locally owned restaurants. The neighborhood maintains a list of local job opportunities on its website, and Walton Hills’ proximity to Interstate 480 provides residents with an easy commute to additional employment options in northeast Ohio.

Walton Hills is conveniently located about halfway between Cleveland and Akron, and commuters can reach either downtown district relatively quickly. There are a few public transportation options through the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, but most residents rely on cars.
