Welcome to Robert Meadow Hill a community of the Wauconda area on Chicago’s Northwest side. Located within minutes of popular Bangs Lake, the neighborhood of Robert Meadow Hill offers residents a quiet retreat just outside of Wauconda’s downtown.

“People like this area because the lots are, on average, an acre or more,” explains Sean Ryan, Realtor with Ryan and Co. “A few might be bigger or smaller, but a lot of them back up to wetlands and the nature preserve. Plus you get lower taxes because you’re in unincorporated Lake County, versus being in the city.”

Housing options in Robert Meadow Hill consist primarily of single-family homes in a variety of styles. Prospective buyers can choose from minimalist designs like split-levels and ramblers or opt for the larger modern traditional homes or sprawling estates. The average sales price here is $425,000 with price points ranging from the high $200,000s to the low $700,000s depending on the age, size and condition of the property. Residents of Robert Meadow Hill enjoy their privacy, with most lots being tucked away behind a mature tree canopy.

Students here belong to the Wauconda Community School District Number 118 and attend public schools like Wauconda Elementary, Middle and High. Serving over 4300 students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades, all three schools received an overall ranking of ‘B’ or higher from Niche.

Despite the secluded feel, you’re in no way isolated in Robert Meadow Hill. “You’re also about five minutes from the Jewel-Osco [grocery store] and all the shopping,” adds Ryan. A quick jaunt up to the Liberty Square Shopping Mall provides residents with easy access to groceries, casual eateries and retailers like Pet Supplies Plus, for all of your four-legged friends.

Being a part of Lake County, Wauconda’s Bangs Lake is one of the area's major attractions. A natural glacial lake, the Bangs Lake and its beaches were once made famous for their appearance in the 1980s musical-comedy The Blues Brothers. Today Phil’s Beach—where the Blues Brothers’ drove their car—still welcomes visitors who wish to pay homage to the movie or simply to go for a swim. Outside of Phil’s beach, the lake offers an endless array of seasonal activities from swimming to fishing to boating and more. Local marinas rent boat slips, pontoon and row boats, paddle boards and kayaks too.

Or if you’re hungry, stop in right next door at Lindy’s Landing and marina. Established in 1965, this elegant waterfront bar and restaurant features a variety of entrees from fish and chips to chicken piccata. Have a drink in their lounge and be sure to look up to catch a glimpse of a row boat’s delicate frame which adorns the bar’s lighting.

Looking for a more casual spot, or a place to grab a breakfast to power you through your day? Then stop in at the Honeybella Pancake and Café, where you’ll find, pancakes and an assortment of breakfast treats.

For some more time outdoors, the Lakewood Forest Preserve is practically in your back yard. Spanning nearly 3,000 acres and offering residents plenty of hiking trails and scenic views, this spot is popular year-round, and is a favorite for sledding and cross-country skiing too.

And when you’re in need of a change of pace, don’t forget you’re just an hour outside of Downtown Chicago. Offering museums, nightlife and plenty of entertainment, shopping and dining options to boot, you can spend a night or a weekend in Chicago and the travel is easy.

Offering all this and more, you might just find that Robert Meadow Hill is a great place to plant roots.
