Located 18 miles southwest out of Detroit, the city of Wayne, Michigan invites with its rich history, unique downtown district and inviting local community. There's been a lot of growth in industrial and retail businesses but it still has that same hometown feel.”

It has everything from modest bungalows to brownstones and multi-family homes. It also has a lot of older homes but there's been a crop of new housing developments too," Gouin says.

The Wayne-Westland Community School District serves the suburb. Taft-Galloway Elementary School received a C-rating on Niche, while Benjamin Franklin Middle School earned a C-plus. Wayne has several parks and community centers as well as dozens of community programs. Amenities include the Play 4 All playground at Soroptimist Park. Visiting Wayne Historical Museum to learn about the city's history
In the summertime, Goudy Park welcomes thousands throughout the summer for a series of live music events and community efforts. The Wayne Historical Museum houses generations of artifacts that create a timeline of critical markers in Wayne’s history of Wayne’s contribution to the early industrial revolution and the suburb’s continuing importance in Michigan’s economy. Visitors can learn about the decades-long presence of Ford Motor Co.’s Michigan Assembly Plant and Wayne Stamping & Assembly Plant.
