Parker Crest is a planned neighborhood in West Linn, OR, designed and built in the late 1990s and early 2000s with spacious colonial homes centered around a walkable downtown with shops, restaurants and grocers, bringing a car-free way of life to the Portland suburbs. Locals can enjoy evening walks on wooded streets or walk to pick up groceries without leaving their neighborhood.

Gridded streets and well-maintained sidewalks set the stage for Parker Crest’s multiple house styles, including modern farmhouses and custom colonials. Homes range in price from $800,000 to $1.2 million, with the median list price at $985,000. Town houses are priced starting at $400,000 and offer 3 to 4 bedrooms and 2 to 2.5 bathrooms. “Houses sell quickly around here, and land is hard to come by since it’s such a desirable area,” says Coldwell Banker Real Estate Agent Brandon Connor, who specializes in the Pacific Northwest.

A draw to Parker Crest is the high-quality schools in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. Ranked the third-best school district in Oregon, West Linn-Wilsonville includes nine elementary schools, four middle schools and three high schools and the district is rated A by Niche. A student living in Parker Crest may attend Bolton Primary School, rated A minus by Niche, Rosemont Ridge Middle School, rated A minus, and West Linn High School, rated A. “West Linn is a great little town,” says Connor. “Buyers love it here because it offers a stellar education for children and is close to Portland.”

When the school and workday ends, locals head to Tanner Creek Skate Park to enjoy outdoor fun. This park is not only for skateboarding fans—it includes outdoor fitness equipment, a walking trail and picnic benches, perfect for enjoying a meal outside. “Parker Crest has a positive reputation as a family-friendly and community-based neighborhood, where people get along and enjoy spending time outside in good weather,” says Connor. There’s also Hampton Fitness in the nearby Cascade Summit Town Square so locals can exercise regardless of the weather or season. Plus, getting into downtown Portland is simple by using the Tri-Met Bus Route, which connects with the MAX Light Rail train system. Commuters and day-trippers can also drive twelve miles up Route 43 to reach Portland, making it easy to visit during the day and return home in the evening.

Getting groceries is a breeze with Safeway located in the Cascade Summit Town Square within the Parker Crest neighborhood. There are also two banks, a dentist, a USPS store and plenty of restaurants and bars in the town square, making running errands quick and concise. For dinner, try San Blas Mexican Restaurant, known locally for authentic Mexican cuisine, affordable prices and friendly staff. Be sure to try their fresh guacamole and wash it down with a house-made fruit margarita. If you’d rather take your meal to go, try nearby Spectator Pizza & Pub, where you can get NY-style pizzas made to order.

Between idyllic parks, stellar schools and walkable streets, there’s a lot to love about Parker Crest.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
