West Palm Beach’s Northboro Park Historic District, formed during the area’s land boom in the 1920s, is filled with Mediterranean-inspired homes along walkable streets, lined with palm trees. The area is also near the Lake Worth Inlet and north of downtown West Palm Beach. “The residential homes in the Northboro Historic District feature a charming mix of architectural styles that reflect a rich history,” says Rose Guerrero, Historical Society of Palm Beach County research director.
Older Mediterranean revivals dominate the district
Prices range from $550,000 to $750,000, but homes can exceed $1 million. The dominant styles are Mediterranean and missionary revivals, most built between the 1920s and 1950s. Joe Franklin, a broker with Johnston Group Real Estate Services and a former resident, says the neighborhood maintains its historical look, with new construction adhering to the styles. The area has a CAP Index Crime Score of 7 out of 10, higher than the national average of 4.
