Borders of shopping malls and close steakhouse
Palm Beach Lakes South may be a quiet, secluded neighborhood, but its proximity to downtown West Palm Beach is a boon. The Westward Shopping Mall and Professional Plaza border the triangle to the west and parts of the south, where residents can find stores such as Walgreens, Burlington and ALDI. Okeechobee Steakhouse is at the southwestern corner, just across Okeechobee Boulevard. The steakhouse claims to be the oldest in Florida. Your Greek Cousin restaurant sells an array of Greek goods, including a gyro with fries in it.

Greenmarket and international boat show

Children in the neighborhood can attend Westward Elementary School for kindergarten through fifth grade and Bear Lakes Middle School for grades 6 through 8. Both have a C rating from Niche. Chillingworth Park, a four-acre park close to the neighborhood's southeastern corner, has a paved walking path around the edges. Pedestrian access can also be found from South Chillingworth Drive.
