About Westworth Village, TX

About Westworth Village, TX

The streets of Westworth Village are so peaceful and serene that it’s hard to tell you’re just five miles from the busyness of downtown Fort Worth. “It feels a little bit like a small suburban area, but it’s almost in the middle of downtown. You can have the suburban lifestyle, but with downtown flair,” says Jessica Buchanan, a Realtor with eXp Realty. “There are golf courses, trails and parks. It checks a lot of boxes.” This Fort Worth suburb developed in the 1940s and 1950s due to the nearby Air Force base, and it has remained a quiet retreat for homeowners who want to be near the attractions of Fort Worth while having room to settle down in an established neighborhood.

Westworth Village has a wide variety of houses for homebuyers to choose from. Buchanan says you can find established, traditional homes next to brand-new houses in the area. Many established homes are ranch-style houses with built-in garages and mature trees in the front yard. Newer homes are often traditional brick homes, frequently with painted brick exteriors. The Westworth Park subdivision is a gated community with luxury million-dollar houses, including many Spanish Revival homes with red tile roofs and arched windows. Houses in Westworth Village typically cost between $200,000 and $270,000 for three bedrooms. A four-bedroom house will cost around $300,000. The newer homes are listed for $500,000 to $600,000.

Students in the area will likely be part of the Fort Worth Independent School District and might attend Burton Hill Elementary School, Stripling Middle School and Arlington Heights High School. Arlington Heights is rated a B overall by Niche and gets high marks for clubs and activities. The school has programs of choice in agriculture and fine arts. Several celebrities have attended the school, including Leon Bridges, John Denver and Bill Paxton.

Living in Westworth Village will put you near many outdoor recreation opportunities. Head to the Airfield Falls Trailhead to start your journey on the Trinity Trail system. The Trinity Trails are a network of more than 100 miles of multi-use trails that follow the Trinity River throughout Fort Worth and surrounding areas. This trailhead will lead you through forested areas along the banks and past scenic waterfalls on your way to the West Fork of the Trinity River. For more activity, head to Melva Campbell Park for a game of pickleball, some time on the playground or a workout on the outdoor exercise equipment.

Golf lovers will enjoy the proximity to the nearby Hawks Creek Golf Club. This 18-hole course combined natural water hazards, challenging bunkers and mature trees to give players a fun and exciting round every time. The course is owned and operated by the city of Westworth Village and is open to the public seven days a week. After your round, stop by the Hawks Creek Grill for burgers, sandwiches and cold drinks.

While there aren’t many options for dining in the city, you can head just across the river to Heim Barbecue for authentic Texas barbecue options. This popular restaurant serves brisket, sausage, burnt ends and all the classic sides. Grab a table in the rustic chic dining room or sit on the patio if the weather is nice and enjoy the sunshine. If you want to grab something quickly, you can choose from fast-food restaurants in the city like Whataburger, Raising Cane’s and Dairy Queen.

For groceries, you can shop at Walmart, Sam’s Club or Aldi on Westworth Boulevard. And with the neighborhood’s location just 5 miles from downtown Fort Worth, you’ll have an easy commute anytime you need to head into the city for work, running errands or fun.
