A community-focused, picturesque neighborhood outside downtown Wichita, Crown Heights South, makes life into a painting for residents. "It's very Norman Rockwell-ish," says Robin Schraml-Wiggans, a Realtor with Keller Williams Hometown Partners who specializes in selling in this area and used to live in the neighborhood. "A lot of people go out and walk their dogs, and I really love the connections I had with my neighbors." Many neighborhood residents work in Downtown Wichita, and airline companies like Boeing and Spirit have offices in the city. "Wichita is the air capital of the world," says Schraml-Wiggans. McConnell Air Force Base is less than five miles from the neighborhood and is also home to the Kansas Aviation Museum. The Robert J. Dole Department of Veterans Affairs Medical and Regional Office Center is located in the neighborhood, a draw for veterans and those who work in medicine.

The neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks, but Crown Heights South's quiet, residential nature means walking on the street is common. Lawns tend to be relatively large in the neighborhood, and they are well-kept, with shrubs and garden beds throughout. There isn't an abundance of tree cover, but many lawns have a tree or two growing in the middle.

A high school that brings in sports fans
Students in the area are part of Wichita USD259, which has a B-minus rating on Niche. Crown Heights South's youngest learners begin their academic journey at Caldwell Elementary School, which has a C-minus rating. Students continue at B-plus-rated Robinson Middle School and continue their secondary academic journey at Wichita East High School, which has a B-plus rating and is known for its sports teams. It's common to see area residents come out in droves to support the Blue Aces on Game Night.
