Fox Ridge has a wetland setting amid suburban northwest Wichita
Developed across a wetland, Fox Ridge is a northwest Wichita community with equal parts natural appeal and suburban convenience. Winding sidewalks surrounded by native grasses and black-eyed Susan wildflowers lead to several resident-only amenities and the Maize South school campus. More of the area’s landscape can be explored at the award-winning Pracht Wetlands Park immediately south. Residents also have easy access to ample restaurants and retailers, with a small commercial corridor in the neighborhood’s southwestern corner and NewMarket Square nearby. “Homes are still being built because it’s such a desirable location. Kids can walk to school, and it’s near a ton of shopping. Those are huge draws,” says Heather Golden, an associate broker and Realtor with J.P. Weigand & Sons, who has sold several homes in the area. “It’s rare for a house to be on the market for over two days here.”

Cul-de-sacs weave between wetlands in Fox Ridge
Fox Ridge’s cul-de-sacs are brimming with homes built throughout the early 2010s. Modern cabin-style homes have four to five bedrooms and quarter-acre lots dotted with young oak trees. Six-bedroom contemporary estates feature half-circle driveways leading to three-car garages and backyards with private pools and wetland views. “You can’t swim or boat in the water, but you can fish, and it just makes the neighborhood pretty,” says Golden. Anglers in the neighborhood can go behind their iron fences and catch fish like largemouth bass or channel catfish. Buying here can cost between $500,000 and $1 million, a range higher than a Wichita home’s average $250,000 selling price.
