Suburban Neighborhood in Wrightstown, Pennsylvania
Bucks County 19007, 19021, 19057
“Welcome Friend” is the official motto of the sprawling community of Bristol. The motto was originally written on a wooden sign that greeted the Marquis de Lafayette as his 1824 “Farewell Tour of America” passed through the community. The town has a history as a recreational hotspot and a manufacturing powerhouse since its settlement. Preserved historic buildings and elegant homes are a short distance away from seasonal events at local parks and vibrant local businesses.
Here you’ll find a community of forested suburban streets and turnpikes leading to historic buildings and areas like Bristol Warf. The residential landscape features a mix of suburban single-family houses with condominiums and town houses. Simple Cape Cod and colonial houses are a common sight in the neighborhood. However, the neighborhood has a smattering of historic Victorian and Queen Anne-style houses, sporting the turret windows and wraparound porches typical of the styles. Contemporary and town houses are also available, with spacious floor plans and street parking. Most houses feature paved driveways and suburban houses have expansive yards perfect for cultivating a garden or playing lawn games. Bristol’s home prices range from $125,000 needing a bit of T.L.C. to $630,000 or more for newer houses and luxury condominiums.
Several school districts, such as the Croydon, Pennsbury and Bristol Township School Districts serve Bristol’s public school students. Students begin their academic journeys at primary schools like Keystone Elementary, which has an overall C Niche rating and teaches from kindergarten through fifth grade. Students move on to intermediate and secondary institutions such as Penwood Middle and Bristol High School. The former school has an A-minus rating, and the latter has an overall B rating according to Niche and a student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1.
Local and state parks allow locals to get active and connect with nature. Relax by the waterfront or catch the summer concert series at Bristol Lions Park. Visit the Bristol Township Parks & Recreation Department, home to vast athletic fields, miles of walking and cycling paths, a splash area and a concert stage. Relax and reflect on the serene waters of Bristol Lagoon along the trails at Delaware Canal State Park. Learn about local wildlife at the Silver Lake Nature Center, which hosts various seasonal and volunteer programs from covered and outdoor shelters in over 460 acres of wilderness.
Main thoroughfares like Mill Street are lined with quality retailers to browse through and local restaurants to enjoy. Get your groceries at the All Fresh Supermarket, a local store selling fresh produce, household necessities and a selection of American and Spanish foodstuffs. Even more fresh food options are available at the Bristol Amish Market, with various vendors serving baked goods and deli foods. Kat’s Antiques Mall is a two-story mall with vendors offering a variety of antique and secondhand items.
Start your day at Calm Waters Coffee, a regional franchise offering a variety of specialty beverages and baked goods. Head up Mill Street to Itri Wood Fired Pizza, a local establishment dishing out pizzas and homely Italian fare in a casual environment. Dog and Bull Brew and Music House is a lively bar and venue along Bristol Pike, home to live music with a broad beer and pub fare selection.
The Bristol Pike runs through the community, providing I-95 and other freeways leading to Philadelphia and Trenton. The Southeastern Philadelphia Transportation Authority has a station just off Bristol Pike, opening Bristol locals to the best Pennsylvania offers.
