In a tiny, dirt floor jail cell called The Kemp Calaboose, the infamous Bonnie of the bank-robbing duo Bonnie and Clyde was jailed right here in the little town of Kaufman in 1932, after a failed bank heist. This city is among the oldest inhabited communities of the Three Forks of the Trinity River area, just 30 miles from downtown Dallas.
