Downtown Winooski
Located north of Burlington in Chittenden County, Winooski is a small riverside city with quiet residential neighborhoods and quirky shops and restaurants on Main Street. The city gets its name from the Abenaki word “Winoskitegw,” meaning “land of the wild onion,” for the leeks and onions that once grew along the banks of the Winooski River.
