Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood’s former Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, mansion has sold after less than two months on the market.

The 100-year-old gated estate known as Los Ondas sold for $18.5 million, lower than its $21 million asking price, according to listing agent Tim Allen. The deal closed Monday.

The Tim Allen Properties Team of Coldwell Banker Realty in Northern California also represented the buyer.

“We are thrilled that we could market this iconic property and bring the buyers to the closing of this century-old estate in Carmel-by-the-Sea,” Allen said in a statement. “The spectacular ocean views and ties to local history make this a special place to call home. We extend our warmest wishes to the new owners as they enjoy their estate in this beautiful location.”

The team declined to disclose any details about the buyer when asked for further comment.

Eastwood, 94, is known for his accomplishments in the film world as one of “the most prolific, versatile artists in the history of the medium, involving himself first as an actor, then as a director and producer,” according to the California Museum. He grew up in California, where he now owns the Mission Ranch Inn and Tehama Golf Club.

Los Ondas, a four-bedroom, 4,500-square-foot house, served as Eastwood’s residence from 1981 until 1996, a period including the four years he served as mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea. In 1996, Eastwood sold the house.
