Two of Hollywood's favorite properties — once owned by Frank Sinatra — have finally sold after 13 years on and off the market.

The Chatsworth, California, estate includes a 4-acre property featuring a four-bedroom, four-bathroom main house, as well as an adjacent 9-acre property with a smaller guest house, according to a statement from The Agency, the brokerage that represented the listing, released Tuesday.

The larger of the two properties sold for $5 million, while the smaller guest house went for just shy of $3 million, according to listings on Homes.com and The Agency.

Both listings were marked as "Pending" on Homes.com as of Tuesday, meaning they are in the last stage of the transaction before closing.

The properties sold in separate deals to the same buyer, The Agency said, but no details about who bought them were available.

The estate has Hollywood connections

More than its extensive for-sale history, the property, known as "the most filmed house in America," also taps into deep Hollywood and architectural lore, according to listing agents Craig Knizek and Blair Chang.

For one, the property is known as the site of former President John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe's alleged tryst.

In the past 15 years, though, its Hollywood connections have deepened.

The two houses have been featured in a slew of movies and television shows, including "Mad Men," "Californication," "Winning Time" and "Dreamgirls."

They've also been the backdrop for shorter-form filming, including Rob Lowe's DirecTV commercial and Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" music video. And in 2021, luxury brand Hermes threw a party rumored to cost some $500,000 at the estate.

“Every production designer, location manager, studio exec and director knows this house,” Knizek, managing Partner for The Agency’s San Fernando Valley offices, said of the main house in a statement.

It was designed by a famous architect

The estate also symbolizes an important piece of architectural history, the agents said.

It was designed by award-winning architect William Pereira, known for his futuristic landmark properties, including the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco and Geisel Library at the University of California San Diego.

“Architectural aficionados the world over have long admired this iconic 1949 masterpiece by Pereira,” Chang, a founding partner at The Agency, said in a statement.

The agents said the property's storied past in the film industry, combined with its appeal to architecture buffs, informed their marketing tactics.

"I’ve previously listed the property three times over those past 13 years. I’m glad that the fourth time was the charm,” Knizek said.

This time around, the duo considered alternate uses for the property, even offering buyers the option to develop 11 parcels included in the guest house property into a subdivision.

“We’re confident that the new owner will indeed maximize the investment income of these very special properties and continue the incredible legacy,” Knizek said. "We’re very proud and grateful to be associated with such a cool listing."
