The priciest new construction speculative house in the United States just hit the market in Florida, with a cool $285 million price tag.
If built, it would be a 50,000-square-foot mansion in Manalapan and feature eight bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, 700 feet of water frontage and ultra-luxury amenities. More than that, a buyer would get the chance to be next-door neighbors with billionaire Larry Ellison, co-founder of software giant Oracle, according to a news release from the team behind the development.
The property was listed for sale Thursday, according to Homes.com.
With its hefty listing price, the speculative mansion ranks among the most expensive houses for sale in the country, according to Homes.com data.
Put another way, if the property’s buyer puts down a standard 20% down payment, about $57 million, they’re looking at an almost $1.7 million monthly payment with a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage. And that’s not including the estimated approximately $394,000 in property taxes each year.

The property is owned by Stewart Satter, a developer and the former mayor of Manalapan. Satter is collaborating with luxury home builder Robert W. Burrage of RWB Construction Management and Choeff Levy Fischman Architecture + Design to bring his vision of opulence to life, he said in a statement. Mark Tremblay of Marc-Michaels Interior Design Inc. is the designer of the house's interior.
“This property is a groundbreaking achievement in luxury real estate,” Burrage said in a statement. “From its scale to its intricate craftsmanship and unrivaled amenities, we’ve brought to market something that has never been done before. This estate is poised to set new records and redefine what is possible in ultra-luxury living.”

In addition to its size and waterfront location, the property will also feature a bowling alley, movie theatre, golf simulation room, spa, shooting range and a club room and padel court for the racket sport. It would also have a “car museum,” described in the listing as “the perfect showcase for prized vehicles,” and a guest house.
Listing agent Nick Malinosky of The Exclusive Group at Douglas Elliman said in a statement that the estate is “unlike anything the market has ever seen.”
“This is more than just a home,” he said. “It’s a statement, a record-breaking achievement that will forever redefine the standard of ultra-luxury real estate.”
