As of March 2024In 1952 architect John Lautner designed a gem of a house for well-known guitarist Ted Bergren in the Hollywood hills. Six years later, that same design was duplicated in the little-known 39-home enclave of SnowCreek Village, just minutes from downtown Palm Springs. The authors of Lautner A-Z have dubbed the desert house the "pirate Lautner." In their comprehensive study of Lautner, the writers conclude that this mysterious desert home is the only one of the two that successfully preserves the original atmosphere that Lautner created.
