As first time homebuyers, and given the current state of the market, we were extremely hesitant to begin our home buying journey and didn't even know where to begin. Alison came highly recommended, and we can honestly say that she was great!

We had an initial conversation where she made sure to understand where we were coming from as far as knowledge levels, timelines, experience with homes/large purchases, and what our preferred communication style and timing was like. This was especially great as we're typically very deliberate people who are uncomfortable with being pushed to make snap decisions, and Alison was great at accommodating this! She gave us a great overview of what the general process would be for a home purchase and highlighted certain areas we should be aware of, such as structuring offers and concessions (given our need for deliberation), so that we could be prepared in advance with various options ahead of time.

Throughout the process she was great at working at our pace while making sure to prioritize our wishes, and would always highlight when she thought a decision may be needed sooner rather than later to ensure our offers remained competitive while not pushing us to make a choice before we were comfortable. She also always made us feel as if we were her top priority - she responded within minutes to our texts/calls no matter the time of day, and when we contacted her on the day she was flying back from her vacation about a house we wanted to see she literally met us at the house (our eventual home) an hour after her flight landed to do a walkthrough with us.

Alison was exactly the type of realtor we needed for our first purchase, making sure that we were comfortable with the whole process while knowing when we might need some additional guidance when were out of our depths. She was able to get us a great deal on our house (under asking while still with an inspection contingency in place), and worked quickly to go from initial offer to under contract (after some negotiations) within three days.

We strongly recommend Alison for any prospective home buyers who are looking for a realtor with a wealth of knowledge who prioritizes your comfort and desires above all else!

Wow. First and foremost this was my significant other and I's first experience with a realtor and we could not have found a better match. Alison knocked it out of the park when it came to the most important attributes you'd look for in a realtor. She was very warm and welcoming but also she was professional. From the jump she was very thorough in making sure to know what we were looking for in a property so that we could narrow our focus and find a place we could call home. The viewings were well organized and sequenced, if we did not have the questions for the owners, she made sure to ask them on our behalf to ensure we had all the information necessary. Alison is very knowledgable, focused on providing a truly RARE experience with a realtor as we eventually found our place. Last thing, the amount of communication was perfect. It was not abusive but it was non existent making us feel like we werent working with her. She's the goods and we are very grateful for the opportunity to work with her.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience working with Alison. She gets to know you as a person and you honestly forget you’re a client, you feel like her friend. She battles for you when you need it. Any time we had a question, she was incredibly responsive. She’ll sit with your two toddlers while you tour your homes, and then your kids will ask when they get to have her babysit again.

What stood out to me was her honesty. This is an insane market right now, and any realtor pretending to have all the answers is someone you should be worried about, bc there’s too much that is unpredictable today. Alison is fully transparent, and gives you her true opinion, even if her response might make her job more challenging. She doesn’t BS, it’s not her style. She helped us find our rental when we first moved to DC, and 9 months later after springing on her a year early that we were ready to buy, she helped us do that as well. We’re now the proud owners of a home in Glover Park, and so much of it is thanks to her being the dynamo that she is.

Alison and her colleagues were awesome. We had a seamless sale and purchase.
We’ve dealt with other realtors before; we’ve had to do all the leg work and search properties. Alison listened to us and what we wanted and she did the legwork to find us the perfect place.
Five years later, Alison still picks up the phone if we have a question about if X will be a good upgrade, etc.
Not looking to sell anytime soon, but when/if we do, Alison will be our agent.

Alison is a dream real estate agent. I am not exaggerating! Alison helped me sell my condo during the worst time of year and under pretty bad economic conditions. From the start she was fully switched on, getting everything lined up before my tenant moved out, doing her due diligence to price the condo appropriately and every step of the way keeping it very real. Alison is a straight shooter which is something I hugely appreciated and it helped me trust her advice and instinct. On Alison’s advice, I did some small improvements in the condo and had it staged. Following her recommendations fully paid off - we got multiple offers well over the asking price just after 3 days and completed within another 3 weeks. The smoothest sale transaction one could ever hope for! I should also mention that I live abroad currently and Alison handled everything on her own on-site and we only coordinated virtually and over several time zones, never feeling the distance. I would recommend Alison to anyone who’s looking to sell. You won’t find a better—more dedicated, more responsive, more candid, more reliable—agent with a great eye for design that gets the heart of buyers pumping.

Alison is wonderful to work with! As first-time homebuyers, my partner and I had many many questions. Our interaction with Alison started with a zoom call where she helped us assess where we stood and gave us a clear walkthrough of what the home-buying process would look like. Once we decided we were ready to move forward and find a home Alison was there every step of the way.

She was very diligent, gave us her honest feedback on how she felt the places we looked at fit our lifestyle, and took all our “silly” questions seriously. Most reviews here will likely cover the immediate experience with Alison, but I want to make sure I share the experience in the short AND long game.

Chance brought Alison and our house hunt together and I couldn’t be more grateful. We started our journey looking for rentals, being a military family, but Alison opened the door to explore the idea of a purchase. She went the extra mile to explain so much, helped us understand what we should consider in either scenario, and ultimately gave us the space and power to make that decision on our own. My husband and I decided that purchasing would actually be a more appropriate option.

As first time home buyers, all of this was still pretty foreign to us. Of course, Alison walked us through the steps and details every step of the way, but more importantly, she listened and balanced us flawlessly. She spent ample time searching with us, setting realistic expectations based on what was within our budget (without ever pushing our limits), and most importantly, taught us the value of patience. The DMV is wild… houses fly on and off the market in a blink, but Alison reassured us we would find a great fit. She kept us focused and ultimately got us over the finish line within our budget, our timeline, and with a clear mind when it’s easy to rush big decisions like this.

But let me also touch on the long term. We are coming up on the end of year 2 in our home and looking back, I still know that this was the best and right decision for us.

Alison isn’t in it to fly through deals as quickly as she can. She’s there to teach, support, and give you that “look under the hood” as you navigate your search whether it’s your first or tenth home.

Our initial connection with Alison was pure luck. We relocated from the midwest to DC a couple years ago from a house to a rental and had no idea what we were doing. Alison listened to who we were as the central piece to our process. She has lived all over the city and has an amazing sense of each neighborhood and how different peoples' priorities might fit in those areas...and most importantly she was 100% right about us and fit. That is instinctual. There are so many realtors in this area, but her instincts are why we chose her again when we wanted to buy a place a couple of years later.

There really is not enough descriptive words in the English language to express the absolute joy it was working with Alison on my journey of purchasing my first home. Right from the beginning she was engaging and had all of her focus on who I was and what I was looking for.
