Back Story: I worked in the environmental engineering field, Jones and Neuse, from 1990 to 1997. My work at J&N Austin Corporate Office included their expansion to Corpus, Houston, El Paso, Baton Rouge, LA and Mexico City. While working there, I had the privilege to work with Robert Jones, President, and Mike Dick, VP. Their examples were an invaluable learning experience. When Bob Jones mentioned, after an acquisition meeting, “… you need to be in the Real Estate business” a proverbial light bulb went off in my head! Thank you - Mr. Jones!
In 1997 I worked as an office manager with a Southwest Austin Real Estate company, Jackson Properties, Inc. Rafe Jackson, Broker, another native Austinite, mentored me on managing a Real Estate office. During my employment we expanded from 7 agents to 14. This experience taught me many facets of the business. I honed my management skills and my ability to lead others toward their potential in the fast paced real estate world.
I attended my series of core real estate classes in 1984, having been prompted by my father. His faith and belief that I could succeed in the competitive world of RE encouraged me to make this commitment.
Learning about the RE field has been a great experience and I have used this knowledge in my professional career as a full time sales person and now as a broker.
In 2000 I obtained my Real Estate Sales license and in 2003 Sylvia Vidaurri and I decided to join Tetra Properties Inc. The original broker at Tetra Properties, Inc. was one of my older brothers, Tyler “Nic” Chumney.
Together we have now developed Tetra Properties into a full service Real Estate Company. In 2004 I obtained my broker’s license and have had the opportunity to help hundreds of clients and their ¬extended families find the perfect place to live or secure valuable investment properties.
