My first deal involving Becky was in 2009, and she was the sellers agent. Since then she is the only agent I'll have representing me, and she has done so on 3 more deals since then, 1 sale and 2 buys. She also manages my 6 rental units and is the best property manager I've encountered since 2008 when I got in the business.

Many - maybe most - agents are concerned with one thing - getting a sale done. If you're selling, that's great. If you're buying, it's not - because after you make that offer and get that contract signed, you're just at the BEGINNING of the process. Becky brings in an inspector that looks at *everything*, so you can make an informed decision, and she goes to bat for you when a problem needs addressing.

An example - In the house we bought in 2018, our inspection turned up an issue with the roof (missing shingles) and an issue with the deck not being properly secured to the house and where the external stairs to the deck (2 stories high) were sinking and about to detach. She reported this to the seller and asked them to fix it.

The seller replied that their roofing contractor said the roof was fine and the general contractor said the same thing about the deck. She got this call while we were at the house in question looking at some other things.

Well Becky got this little gleam in her eyes. She is very much like a pit bull for her clients - she's sweet, lovable, friendly, warm, and she will rip the throat out of anyone who tries to hurt you. So she got this gleam in her eyes and starts asking for the roofing contractor's name and license number as well as the general contractor's same info.

Well now the seller (a flipping company) starts arguing that a home inspector doesn't beat a contractor when it comes to safety. Becky fires right back, "No problem, I'll have my structural engineer out here tomorrow and we'll take his report to the licensing board."

The next day there were 12 guys at the house fixing the deck and the roof.

If you're buying a home, you're making the biggest investment you'll probably make in your life. You don't want an agent who'll tell you everything is roses and get you to closing only for you to settle into your new home and find out that there's an $8,000 repair the inspector glossed over. You want an agent who'll get you all the info you need, fight for you like her life depends on it, and see you into your dream home happy and confident that it's the home you hope it is.
