BETTY-JO TILLEY is a residential associate in the Pacific Palisades office of Prudential California Realty. From this location, she brings buyers and sellers together all over the Westside. Prior to practicing real estate, Ms. Tilley served as vice president of Kip Morrison and Associates, Inc., a marketing and public relations agency and previously with Ruder Finn & Rotman, the country's largest independent public relations firm, where she honed the skills that most benefit her real estate clients: strategizing marketing plans, sales and most of all, client service. During her public relations career, Ms. Tilley created and carried out marketing support and public relations campaigns for Domaine Chandon and for Cointreau America, Inc., among other regionally and nationally marketed products, as well as creating and conducting new product introductions and ongoing campaigns for KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce and Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc., among others. Before her work in the agency business, Ms. Tilley was a magazine feature writer. She also worked in television, writing and coordinating the production of entertainment news programs. PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION Prior to the recent acquisition of DBL Realtors by Sotheby's International Realty, Ms. Tilley was a member of the California 100, comprised of the top 100 Coldwell Banker agents in the State. From 1990 to 1994, she was consistently ranked the number one or number two agent of 85-100 agents in the Santa Monica office of Prudential California Realty. During her four years in the Brentwood office of Coldwell Banker, she was been among the top five of 115-125 agents in Brentwood each year. She was last ranked #13 among all Coldwell Banker agents in California. She was consistently ranked among the top 1% of all Prudential and Coldwell Banker agents nationwide. Ms. Tilley is the recipient of numerous awards for professional excellence, including an International Association of Business Communications Bronze Quill Award, a Ruder Finn & Rotman Paul B. Zucker award (an internal management recognition) and a Publicity Club of Los Angeles Pro Award. She received commendations from the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women for her volunteer public awareness planning and XXIII Olympiad staff training program for sexual assault prevention and crisis intervention. Ms. Tilley wrote the November 1992 cover story for California Real Estate Magazine, a how-to feature article titled "Lack of Marketing Dragging You Down?" explaining for other real estate brokers and agents the correct way to write, design and distribute flyers. She has been sought as a speaker at Real Estate trade functions over the years, presenting topics such as "How to Prevent Escrow Fall" and "Negotiating on Behalf of your Sellers". Ms. Tilley has been widely acclaimed in 1999 for her internet marketing, which includes a website which provides real estate and community information and includes a fundraising program for public schools. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT For many years, Ms. Tilley served on the advisory board and board of directors of organizations dedicated to the movement against violence against women and children. Ms. Tilley served on the 1996-1997 Board of Directors for a pre-school in the capacity of directing parent volunteer activity and currently serve a two year term as Chair of the Board. For her Church, she is active in ministries serving the poor and needy through her volunteer work, which includes chairing a silent auction as well as orchestrating donated clothing and household items. She is dedicated to an ongoing involvement in the Sunday School program. As a supportive school parent, she serves on the Solicitation Committee for the annual fundraising Silent Auction. Ms. Tilley is a regular contributor (based on a portion of each sale's commission) to the Aaroe Associates Charitable Foundation, which provides funds to agent designated charities such as our public school system. She has spearheaded successful $1000. grants from Aaroe Charitable to two elementary schools and a middle school. Ms. Tilley has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Journalism at the University of Southern California. She lives with her two children and her husband. She studies piano and has been fluent in Spanish since her childhood. Born and raised in southern California, Ms. Tilley has lived on the Westside since 1980 and has maintained a lifelong dedication to community service.
