Denise was born in Keflavik, Iceland, and has lived in Florida, California, Alabama, Maine, and Virginia. She is a relocation expert, shaped by her upbringing in a Naval Military family. Settling in Florida as her father retired in Jacksonville, Denise graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice and a minor in speech communications. Over fifteen years as a sales executive with BellSouth, Denise, and her family embraced the opportunity to relocate seven times before making Central Virginia their home.
Denise is a realtor and relocation expert, proudly holding the GRI (Graduate of Realtor Institute) designation. She has been an integral part of the Virginia Realtors Board of Directors since 2016 and was elected as the President of the Board for 2022 by her peers. Her dedication to the real estate profession is evident in her past roles, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors (CAAR) from 2008 to 2014, where she also held the position of Association President in 2013.
In 2009, Denise was chosen as a member of the Virginia Association of Realtors Leadership Academy, and she has consistently been a part of the CAAR Professional Honor Society since 2008 and the Virginia Association of Realtors Honor Society since 2010. Her commitment to exceptional customer service earned her the 2017 Charlottesville Welcome Book Award, and she has been recognized as the Favorite Realtor in Charlottesville by "Charlottesville Family" readers since 2009. Denise has continually achieved outstanding sales results, making her the highest-producing agent in her office since 2011.
Denise's dedication to her clients is reflected in her impressive record of accomplishment. In 2013, she received the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors Sales Associate of the Year award, and in 2015, she was voted Realtor of the Year by the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors. In 2021, Denise and her team closed 174 transactions, representing over 89 million in sales. Since 2017, the Denise Ramey Team has consistently ranked as a Top 25 team in the Commonwealth of Virginia out of over 34,000 agents.
Outside of their professional endeavors, Denise and her husband Ricky cherish spending time with their family and their beloved dogs, Bailey, and Buster. Their four children attended schools in Charlottesville, including Covenant, Cale Elementary, Henley Middle School, Burley Middle School, and Western Albemarle High School, reaffirming their love for Central Virginia as a wonderful place to call home.
