Meet Donna Goings
Local. The buzzword traveling around real estate circles these days is “hyper-local”. While it may be a slogan or catchphrase, at Donna Goings Real Estate it is who we are. Donna moved to Charlottesville in 1969 and made it her home. Entering real estate in 1985, she used her experience as a teacher and community activist to build a successful career. About Donna Goings
Donna has been selling homes in Charlottesville since 1985. After being
associated with large firms she decided to open her own company on January 1, 2011. In spite of the recession, she had one of her best years ever. She sells between 20 and 30 homes annually primarily located in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area. Her business is about 50% listings sold and 50% representing buyers. In today's market, she understands that presentation on the Internet is the most important aspect of public marketing. First showings are the minute the property becomes active on the market. The listings are immediately uploaded to Realtor.com, Zillow, Trulia, and most national websites. Knowing this, she includes staging in her fee. She does not charge extra for this important part of presenting your home. Photos of vacant rooms do not enhance a home. She creates interest in the home by posting a "coming soon" sign on the property, sending out a "coming soon" email to the top Realtors®, and posting on Facebook with a few photos. She does not practice "dual agency". In a dual agency, there is only one Realtor® involved in the transaction. She believes that each party to the transaction needs full representation so that there are no conflicts of interest. If she finds the buyer for her listing, she refers them to another agent for representation. Your agent must be vigilant from contract to final closing. Many contracts are lost after signing, sometimes due to agent error or lack of experience. Knowledge of inspections, environmental issues, and local customs are
important parts of the transaction. Donna's 32 years of experience and the constant upgrading of her skills will benefit you. Honesty and negotiating skills are central to her business.
