Jody Parker has lived in the Mt Dora area for over six years, having moved here from Arkansas. She has two wonderful kids and three beautiful grandchildren; one girl and two little guys. They bring lots of joy to her life, and she loves spending time with them as often as possible!
In Arkansas, Jody worked in the school district, several years in different capacities ending up in the district administration office as assistant to administration. In addition, after taking courses and getting certified, Jody did home staging for clients in the process of selling their homes, helping to make their home show to the best advantage. She also worked with many Realtors who referred her to their clients.
After arriving in Florida and finding the market “upside down”, she decided to explore other venues. While working on her computer frequently in a local coffee shop, she expressed interest in the business. As the owner was not in the market to sell at that time, Jody started helping out some, to see if the coffee shop business was something she might pursue. Before long she was managing it, and enjoying the whole experience. (Especially meeting new people!)
While leaving Arkansas and her family was a huge step to take by herself, Jody was encouraged not only by her very supportive family but books, such as AWAKEN THE GIANT WITHIN by Tony Robbins, among others. In times of doubt, brothers and sisters were only a phone call away and always there! Not to mention the wonderful group of women she met through a scripture study group soon after moving to Mt Dora, and who remain her closest friends.
Jody attends St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mt Dora and has been involved with her parish since she moved here. She’s made many friends there and feels very blessed to have such a great parish family. She’s engaged to a wonderful man and looking forward to her future in real estate helping people find and/or sell their homes. Whether it’s making the best latte, helping people stage their home, or just listening and lending encouragement, Jody loves to bring a smile!
