I actually found Jon through a listing on Zillow and then visited his website. I timidly contacted him through email to which he promptly replied answering all my questions and offering to help. This, after I was all but ignored by another agent. Jon proved extremely devoted to helping me navigate through the stresses and confusion of a first time home purchase. I was quite impressed with his extensive knowledge in all facets of real estate, as this newbie had lots of questions. We were referred to Mr. Murray from a friend. We are a military family. He is not associated with some of the military buying/selling programs, but gives his own discounts and help as if he were. We were impressed by all of the different avenues he had for advertising our home. My husband is very skeptical of using an agent - he would rather do it himself and keep the extra. Mr. Murray stayed in touch with us through all of our traveling and other activities we were involved with in our PCS. The market that we were selling in we figured we would try him for 6 months and then revamp our plans - maybe rent. Within a few months we had an offer on the house. The person who finally bought it had many questions and concerns and was very slow at making a commitment. Mr. Murray was there answering all of his questions and helping him a long so that we were able to get a sale. He as very personable and friendly. He was never pushy. He sold himself and he followed up on his promises. My husband and I were VERY happy that we used him. If we ever come back to the Dayton area we will definitely use him again. My experience with Jon was the best experience I could have asked for. Me and my wife had a list of things we wanted in a house. Jon went above and beyond to help us get these things not once but twice. The first house we had a contract on fell through due to inspection issues. We felt terrible but to the rescue Jon came. We were in an emergency situation in finding a home for our daughter and we were from out-of-state. From the minute we contacted Jon, he went into high speed and quickly gathered over 80 listings for us to review online. Once we narrowed down our selections, he provided his expertise of the area and further narrowed down homes for us to view. Within 2 weeks of notifying Jon, we flew into Dayton, spent an entire weekend looking at 40+homes and by the time we left had a deposit on a great home!. After working with another realtor that would have tried to sell us anything we looked at, Jon was a breath of fresh air. I remember my shock when he agreed that a house we were looking at wasn’t for us. He didn’t try to push houses on us that he knew would not work for our family. When we did find a house we loved, he helped us understand that some of the “issues” we saw as first time homebuyers were not that big of a problem. Jon has construction background, so he guided us through the cosmetic issues and assured us that he did not see any big problems. Because of the trust he built with us by not trying to sell every house we looked at, I had confidence when making our offer on the house. The inspection confirmed the house was in excellent condition, and we bought our first home! Jon did not disappear as soon as the contract was signed; he continued his amazing customer service through closing. Even after the closing, Jon still provides excellent customer service. Due to his construction background, he knows a lot of contractors, so when I do updates on the house I ask for his advice and referral to contractors. He did a really quick comparable of my house before I paid for an appraisal during a recent refinance transaction, and he has helped me consider the market when contemplating large projects such as adding a bathroom and finishing our basement.
