Julia Shildkret emigrated from Moscow, Russia to the United States in 1976. Her first career in the United States was in merchandising for a chain of department stores. She then moved onto Wall Street, where she worked as computer analyst for major financial institutions.
Working on Wall Street involved long hours, an inflexible schedule, and a long commute, so after the birth of her second child 32 years ago, Julia decided to leave the corporate world and work locally in her community selling real estate, because she wanted a career that allowed her more time with her children.
Julia still invests long hours into her career, especially since starting her own team about 20 years ago. But because she can control her own schedule, she says her children "grew up feeling they always had me there." Julia and her husband George have been married for 37 years. George is now retired and can spend a lot of time helping with the business.
Julia says real estate is a challenging career that provides a great deal of satisfaction, as she helps people who entrust Julia and her Team with their homes. Julia was one of the top agents for First Choice Real Estate from 1988 until 2004, when she opened her own, state-of-the-art boutique office. Thanks to her corporate background, Julia places a strong emphasis on systems and marketing, which has helped build strong customer service and name recognition for the Julia Shildkret Real Estate Group.
In 2003, Julia was honored by being invited to become a "Star" in the Star Power Network, an affiliation of the top 250 real estate agents in the United States and Canada who are the best in the business. As a "Star," Julia helps teach other real estate agents by sharing her recipe for success, including her marketing and customer service strategies. Real estate agents must meet high standards of eligibility to join the Star Power Network.
