I reached out to Kate at TruCare for a HHA for 24 hour for both my mom and dad. My mom broke her arm while caring for my Dad whose care was becoming physically and medically too complex for her to manage. When I flew home my mom was in extreme pain, still in her clothes from her hospitalization, had not showered or eaten. He was unable to open her pain medications, prepared meals or clean herself up bc she was unable to use her arm and was limited by pain. Within 24 hours, Kate worked closely with me to support my at home and an Aide was placed. For my mom- Paulette, Madga, and Gabriella staffed my mom's case and helped my mother with everything. Within the 1st 6 hour shift, my mom was not only looking her best but they helped her shop, organize and support her emotionally while my dad was in the hospital. They made sure she safely visited my dad in hospital looking her best. After months of caring for her declining husband my mom was looking and feeling the best she had in months.

Next Kate supported me and gave me options for my dad. Kate called and worked with the social worker at the hospital. Equipment was ordered, medications were provided and contracts were drafted with ease. Nurses at the hospital and his Palliative and Oncology Team commented on how Kate's knowledge, organization and availability made his discharge from the ICU one of the most impressive they have seen. His medical team was confident that Kate and Trucare had arranged for the best possible situation for my dad (who was declared their VIP and their favorite patient).

Days later, TruCare provided an Aide so we could bring my dad home on Hospice. With both my dad and mom's Aides in the home- my mom was able to prepare a space, organize and receive my dad home safely. One week later, my dad's Aides have been amazing. OCynthia and Kingford have been tremendous on providing the best care and assisting my mother with caring for him. As a NP who lives away from my family, I trained my mom on blood sugar monitoring, insulin administration, monitoring for hypoxia, hyper/hypoglycemia, pressure ulcers and pain control. That's a lot for an aging woman to manage. Ocynthia and Kingsford have been instrumental on monitoring him, reminding my mom to administer his medications, toiletting, bathing, assuring he is moved, preventing falls and most of all Assuring his dignity and quality of life is preserved. The company shows they care. The administrative staff are responsive and the Aides tell me how happy they are to work there. When in a situation of having to care for a loved one through their last days, TruCare sends team member to provide resources, positivity and compassion. Thank you. Our family is forever grateful!
