As first time home buyers learning to navigate a difficult and relentlessly competitive San Diego housing market, KC couldn't have been a better fit for my wife and I. He was available and willing to show us anything we wanted to see throughout the early stages of the process while we worked through identifying what exactly we were looking for in a home (that also fit within the confines of our budget). He was always up front and completely transparent at every place we viewed in identifying risks (big or small) and short / long term considerations from needed fixes to how to build and maintain future value. It helped us be patient in making our decision with KC as the voice of reason. We would joke that he was our pseudo therapist in helping us keep a level head when frustrations over the competitiveness of the market would creep in! A duty that does not appear necessary as part of his job description, but one he was willing to go above and beyond to do regardless whenever needed.

His ability to clearly communicate and guide us every step of the way at critical junctures of the process were two of the traits we appreciated the most. The fact that he is so personable and puts in the ground work to develop a relationship with the listing agent through an open line of communication was a huge reason in how we were ultimately able to find our home. He clearly has significant knowledge of the industry and all pockets of San Diego. With all the above - in addition to his guidance - we have the peace of mind knowing we found the perfect place for us, having learned a ton from KC along the way!

Let me start off by saying: KC was the best decision we ever made, when looking for a realtor. I have to be honest, we fired 4 realtors prior to KC because they could not deliver on work ethic, communication or having the professional skills and marketing mind we needed in order to execute the sell.

KC had all of these qualities and exceeded all of our expectations. KC not only sold our home, he helped us purchase two (2) additional homes in San Diego, and sold two (2) more in San Diego; not to mention he helped us do a 1031 exchange to purchase a property in Florida! So we were able to work with KC on both sides of the transactional phases of buying and selling.

His stand out qualities are:
1. Was very willing to explain documents and walk us through the process so we didn’t miss any step.
2. His use of social media, videography, flyers, his aggressive mentality of contacting neighbors and the community of SD with invitations to our open house. KC did his homework with comps and knowing the area to get us the best price, along with making every agent his best friend in order to get pertinent information so we could be first!
3. Impressive knowledge of California documentation, Follow through, phenomenal negotiator , had integrity. 4. When buying, KC was detailed in looking at the structure of homes as if he was buying it for himself. Pointed out every flaw and could the tell us the cost of fixing items, and he was right on!
5.He’s not afraid to call anyone and get to the bottom of anything and notify his client to keep us in the loop.
6. I would say his best and most desirable qualities are his work ethic and communication skills. Please remember everyone has different standards of what work ethic is; but considering I fired 4 guys before KC, you can count on my assessment being on point. From 1-10, 10 being the best; KC is on a level 10+!
Not many exist like KC! Love this guy- he’s become like family!

My wife and I have owned a few properties but had never gone through the process of selling in California. Buying or selling a house can be scary, mostly because of the unknown. We weren't sure if we were going to continue to rent the property in question, do a 1031 exchange or attempt to sell (too many options!!!).
We met with several different realtors and cash buyers to help us decide. We didn't like the vibe we got when meeting with those individuals. At some point I received a flyer / mailer with KC's contact information. We did some research on KC via the web and noted all the great experiences people shared within his 5-Star ratings. We reached out to KC and liked what we heard from the very first moment we spoke. He walked us through each of the above-mentioned options, never pushing us one way or the other (no high-pressure sales pitch!). His knowledge of the process and patience with our never-ending questions made it an easy choice for us to choose KC to help us sell our first home ☹.

I would like to recognize KC Rentfro for his thoughtfulness, knowledge, understanding of my timing and other real estate requirements. I worked with KC years ago on a real estate purchase for my friend in La Jolla, and was at that time impressed by his patience and sincerity. I decided to do a 1031 exchange this spring in the San Diego area and contacted KC. Despite the very restricted timing and requirements for a 1031 exchange, KC wanted to ensure that the property met my requirements for a home that I would ultimately want to spend time in as a second home. KC is an absolute professional. Similar to what others are saying, he was so patient and helpful through our first home-buying experience. I never once felt pressured to move fast, or see fewer places, or settle for something that wasn't perfect - and that meant we saw _a lot_ of places.

From the beginning, he helped us understand what the entire buying process would look like - when we would need to get inspections, how the offer process goes, how to be competitive in this very hot market. Anything I had a question about he was able to answer. He also has many connections for inspections, financing, contractors, etc. He was really the full package.

Our buying situation was incredibly difficult due to some complexities on the seller's side, but KC was able to help guide us through the whole process. Whenever I buy my next home I would absolutely love to work with KC again. 10 out of 5 stars.

The overall experience with KC was really great.
I was buying my first house in San Diego area. The area was new to me as I was relocating from the Bay area with my family. Moreover, US is also new to me, as I live here for 2 years.
So all the process was like a black box. KC played a very big role that lead to us becoming happy owners.
There were two sides KC supported.
First of all I had limited time (only two months) for buying a house. During all this time he never tried to "sell" me a house, more often he stopped me from looking at bad options even when I was close
to a deadline.
He was working on options I collected and left his comments and thoughts explaining what is good and worth, and what is overpriced for a condition and neighbourhood.
Later, working together he understood my wishes and started to propose options that fitted well for me.
At the same time he always agreed to have a look on something that I wanted but really not worth it.
He showed me all the neighbourhoods I was interested in explaining pros and cons, and offered new ones that I liked.
As I didn't have an opportunity to see all the houses myself, KC did a plenty of tours for me by video call.
He worked very fast and made appointments with good logistics that saved me a lot of time.
He always was on my side and I felt he was in my team.
Secondly, I knew very few about process of buying a house. KC explained all the details, scope of documents, so I became very comfortable. And what is really matter, I was confident in him.
He controlled everything, called/text me to inform about each next step, what was required and what I would need, he answered all my questions.
So the closing completed on time and I managed to relocate to my new house as planned meeting the deadlines.
I am happy that KC is my agent and happy to recommend him. He did his job efficient, professionally, fast. The process became much less stressful. And my family appreciate all the emotional

As a first time home buyer, I felt like I was entering a word of so many unknowns. I spent HOURS on the web trying to educate myself and make myself more comfortable with the idea of buying a home. Then I met with KC, and within 45 minutes all of those nerves had disappeared. He was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions in honest detail. I had KC as our buyer rep for a house in Bay Ho and was very pleased with my experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area (I don't think he even used a GPS when driving to multiple homes in the area). He had great knowledge on the home buying process and what steps a couple should take prior to buying a home (i.e. see multiple houses, drive the neighborhoods at night, meet the neighbors, etc...). Three things that separate great realtors from average ones: deep knowledge of the local market, vast expertise in the buying/selling process, and an unwavering commitment to identifying and fulfilling your needs. KC has all three in spades.

We casually met KC at an open house in a home his company was renovating. His deep knowledge of the local market was immediately apparent and his enthusiasm and passion for real estate were contagious. That combined with his approachable demeanor left quite an impression on us, making him an obvious choice to represent us when we were ready.

Months later we were finally ready to start seriously looking but couldn’t really concur on what we wanted. He made it his priority to have us look at and talk about as many properties as possible to help us figure out exactly what we wanted and where. He knows San Diego real estate like the back of his hand and gave us pros and cons about every neighborhood, even down to the streets. At showings he knew what brought value to a property and what decreased it, how to ballpark estimates for remodeling or repairs, and had an eye for red flags that we wouldn’t have thought of. He always honest and upfront and had the answers to our questions and trustworthy specialists and contractors on speed dial. On top of his expertise, KC is friendly and thoughtful which goes a long way when the inevitable emotional rollercoaster of finding your dream home sets in.

After 7 months, with very few homes for sale and prices climbing, we were starting to feel like we would have to settle when our dream home finally came on the market. We had to act quickly but we were prepared and KC made sure that we were fully approved for our loan to give us an advantage and had our down payment ready to go. When we got a counteroffer and word that there were nine other offers on the table, KC gave us sound guidance on how to respond and ensured the seller that we would be able to close in just 14 days. When our offer was accepted the seller told us that his confidence in KC to be able to deliver was a big reason why they chose us.

After our offer was accepted, KC had inspectors and contractors in immediately to get our laundry list of questions and concerns answered. We were ready to close when unforeseen and unimaginable problem after problem after problem surfaced. KC spent countless hours and late nights working with us and the seller’s agent and other parties to solve the unsolvable in what turned into over a month ordeal. I can’t imagine that any other agent would have had the dedication, patience, and finesse to navigate our buying process with such poise, professionalism, and success.

When I first met KC, I didn't think it was possible to buy a house within my price range. He helped me every step of the way and even steered me away from houses that did not align with my goals. "We didn't come here to settle". He earned my trust by, "Telling it to me straight" and helping me walk away when I fell in love with a money pit. Some realtors might have breezed through a showing, pointing out carpeting and tile. KC was in the crawlspace with a flashlight, checking out the foundation.
