Her solid work ethic and predilection for success keeps her focused on what she believes matters most: helping her clients buy and sell homes. With an impressive background in high-end retail merchandising, where she managed businesses that grossed up to $220M annually, Kristina brings a unique perspective and distinctive experience to the FiveStar real estate agency. For more than ten years, Kristina worked in New York City and London in merchandise management and design. Her considerable experience as a buyer and manager includes roles with luxury retailers Saks Fifth Avenue (NYC), Coach (NYC) , and Kurt Geiger (London). During her tenure, Kristina was responsible for overseeing and purchasing merchandise for fashionable stores like Harrods and Selfridges (London), Printemps (Paris), and Rinascente (Italy). Kristina is also familiar with design, having attended the Harrington School of Design in Chicago. "I believe that fashion, interior design, and real estate have a lot in common," she says. "They all require a solid understanding of aesthetics and the ability to incorporate that knowledge into creating a successful marketing strategy."
Originally, from the Midwest, Kristina and her husband moved from Chicago to Grand Rapids with their children to enjoy and embrace the values and strong family culture so prevalent here. She believes that having moved so often, and having lived in such a variety of locales, helps her connect and relate to both buyers and sellers from within the West Michigan community, as well as clients who move here from larger cities. "People moving from out of state, or other countries don't always realize how much we have to offer in the Grand Rapids area. I love helping them learn about the abundance of outdoor activities, and the beautiful lakeshore, our strong cultural offerings, and, of course, the Grand Rapids area's fabulous restaurants, breweries, and wineries."
When she is not working, Kristina loves spending time with her husband and three children. In her downtime she loves to volunteer at her children's school. Together, her family loves to travel, and everyone enjoys playing golf at Cascade Hills Country Club, although her children now score lower on the course than she does!
