Unexpectedly, my parents needed to sell their home and move to a more supportive environment. Lila was a lifesaver, not only selling their home during the recent market downturn, but helping with so many details that I was wading through - connecting me with local community resources (senior-focused attorneys, a mobile notary), facilitating the home sale process when electronic document handling wasn’t an option, staging the house, even helping to ensure that equipment got returned to the cable company. Lila was much more than a Realtor during this process. I so appreciated her knowledge, business acumen, and support!

Lila Martin handled all aspects of the recent sale of our home and did an outstanding job. Initially a neighbor asked if they could rent the home for a short time and Lila performed a service not generally performed by a sales representative by contacting the neighbor and preparing an agreement, however the neighbor eventually decided not to rent. Lila aided us in recommending painting and repair contractors to make the house ready for sale. My wife and I are disabled so Lila arranged meetings such that we had minimum traveling, even going so far as to have a notary come to our residence for document signing. Lila personally took care of listing the property, handling the showing, collecting offers and notifying prospective buyers of results. The actual closing was completed with minimum effort by us in a timely manner. All this was accomplished smoothly, efficiently and without concern on our part. We feel the time, thought, consideration and effort Lila put into our relation was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending Martin and Hiatt Properties for representation in Real Estate transactions.

Our experience with Lila was nothing short of wonderful and I would literally sing her praises to ANYONE, ANYWHERE, at ANY TIME. In a nightmare real estate market, she was true right hand and ultimate differentiator. We lived in Wilmington and needed to move back to the Raleigh area very suddenly (due to some flooding in our Wilmington home and unique needs with our businesses) and I KNEW (as one of the most type A humans on planet earth- no joke, I know myself very well and I am as high maintenance as they come) that I would need a total Rockstar realtor by my side as I navigated purchasing a home this year. Not only did I need someone who knew the area and had an eye for a good investment- I needed someone willing to work hard, stay connected to us, and someone who could give the absolute best advice in a market that requires ultimate savviness and swiftness. Let me be clear- when I say ‘connected to us’, I mean able to text me back late in the evening, free to pop by our house to meet a contractor or inspector on short notice, and someone willing to have a late-night phone call to talk about financing hiccups over a glass of wine (even if I was the only one drinking). I don’t think I ever called Lila and got her voicemail… which is impressive… I call a lot.

She’s everything we needed, and she got the job done. We’re moving into our dream home because this amazing human worked tirelessly to help us with this transaction. She ran point with my lender, set deadlines that she met and held others to, and she really advocated for me in a pinch. She had my back the whole way- and even worked for us after closing, helping us secure some documents our surveyor had on hand from the previous homeowner. The cherry on top- she had champagne in the fridge for us when we took over the keys. She even had our well treated as a housewarming gift. She’s thoughtful, she’s resourceful, she’s SMART, she knows this area, and she’s intuitive when it comes to finding what her clients are looking for. I know some people prefer to look at dozens of houses- but I really only wanted to look at the top 5 that met our needs. She saved me SO much time by presenting only the best of the best.

I COULD GO ON AND ON AND ON. In a world full of people with 0 work ethic- BE A LILA, KNOW A LILA, HIRE LILA. You won’t regret going with this realtor. She’ll build the boat, bring the boat to you, will help you board it, remembers to pack a picnic, knows all the good fishing holes, takes you to one, baits your hook for you, and helps you cast so that you can bring home your fish (ie- house- love a good metaphor). I owe her huge and I am beyond lucky that she’s now a close friend that we get to keep forever.

Lila is an outstanding real estate agent. She went above and beyond during the process of buying and selling my homes. This is a stressful time for anyone, but Lila made the process as smooth as possible and alleviated that stress. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable (about everything from soup to nuts - even outside what you would think would be the realm of a real estate agent), responsive, and pays attention to every detail. She was on top of everything and a great communicator. I highly recommend Lila and I'm so glad she was my agent.
